Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My one concern is that if we do go on to win this, all will be forgiven regarding Kenny

Don't think theres a risk of that.

We were losing to a literal ski resort.

Their all time top scorer is a centre back.

    That's not what literal means.

Our current best (and for the last half decade) goal threat is a cb

    Honest question.

Do you think an all star GAA XI would get a positive result against Andorra?

    Andorra look goosed here.

Sure it's always the way with part time players. And you can comfortably assume the 4th and 5th player they're bringing off the bench represent a significant drop off.

No Irish manager will be getting 1 million per year for a long while.

David Clifford would have buried the chance Curtis got .

There's a lot of good footballers in the GAA who could do a job (Clifford, Chin, Clifton to name a few) but to beat an international side I doubt it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,406 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

We're keeping the core of the starters on while Andorra empty the bench including a goalkeeper change. **** sake :pac:

    Good goal Mr Knight.

Kenny finally gets a win on the board

    Still feeling meh

Andorra have put a 42 year bloke on as a farewell game. Like he won a game on a raffle.

    That's our level now.

We are an international laughing stock.

Chin wasn't LOI premier division standard tbh.

Really glad to get a win. 3 goals is excelent.still.think well get spanked by Hungary though unfortunately

Nice to get the win but its glossing over the horrendous first half performance

At the end of the day this was a win over Andorra bloody Andorra, we could get destroyed by Hungary who are in the Euros finals

  • Registered Users Posts: 737 ✭✭✭athlone99

3-1 now, matches our 2 previous wins in andorra.

Very poor in spells but at least they reacted to going 1 down.

I mean, when they swapped their goalkeeper as part of a full emptying of their bench you're thinking we really need to win this!

Not sure how that makes us a laughing stock...

Presumably they would have brought him on regardless who they were playing

Happy for Knight, Troy and Horgan!

Look, we’re bad, but at least 4-1 looks alright. A win under our belt, and a game to be forgotten. Most positive aspect is Troy scoring - if we’re playing him future, would hope to see him central.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,029 ✭✭✭tastyt

Fair is fair , we have played well since they scored and scored some good goals

  • Registered Users Posts: 737 ✭✭✭athlone99

    4-1 now

Thread gone quiet now since we went ahead, its like some people just want the manager to fail....

Difficult to celebrate these goals when it means we've to keep that spoofer in charge for longer tbh

Ahh to be fair iv supported Kenny the whole time but the step up when we went down shows what we've been leaving out there. Today wasn't a failure by any means but it's hard to see it as a grand coming out as of yet

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,936 ✭✭✭kksaints

Delighted for Horgan. Always gives his all when he plays.

Excellent last half hour. Quality crosses for the last 2 goals.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 775 ✭✭✭RonanG86

Plenty of other people are going to argue whether conceding to Andorra should result in Stephen Kenny's immediate sacking and execution, so I'll limit my feedback to this:

Conor Hourihane should not play for us ever again, no matter how many injuries we have in midfield. I think his only forward pass was the cross for Parrot's 2nd. If we want someone to be on the pitch just for set pieces and one or two crosses from open play per 90 minutes and otherwise contribute nothing, we might as well stick Brady in midfield. He'll at least occasionally burst into a dribble.

    Let's not lose perspective.

Good goals by the lads but it's Andorra and an end of season friendly.

The first half was shocking and there's no getting away from that.

Kenny is still not up to the task

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,580 ✭✭✭ArielAtom

Piss poor performance, against amateurs. They made us look like a group of amateurs. Kenny really needs his P45, so far out of his depth. Fitness is what win it, nothing else.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,385 ✭✭✭franglan

I can safely say the aul lad at centre back for Andorra's legs are gone...

This freebie win needed to be taken.

I think victory lapping a couple of goals against their second XI is as bad as what you're pointing out above tbh!

    We're in such a grim place. :(

Fitness telling here against these minnows, good to get the win all the same.

    Liquid football lads.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 659 ✭✭✭KevinK

Didn’t see how any good could come of this game, lose, draw and win narrowly and it would be a big negative and win comfortably and so what... it’s Andorra.

But there was something really good about Parrots two goals in a few minutes - had almost forgotten the positive feeling scoring brings I suppose
But in all seriousness we have played some decent games and some terrible games in the last few years and none of it really mattered as we couldn’t score goals. If we managed to develop a young teenage striker with the ability to belt them in regularly it could really change our fortunes, under Kenny or whoever replaces him.

For those keeping track, Bazunu, Doherty*, McClean, Manning, McGrath, Curtis and Horgan the ex League of Ireland players tonight.

(I know Doherty left without a league appearance for Bohs)

Would be better for the country if we got a manager who is actually qualified to face the task at hand no? Those goals against a tired bunch of amateur footballers is only papering over cracks.

A team of any sort of repute or standing isn't playing a friendly against Andorra.

They are entitled to play who they please. Good luck to the fella.

It's an indication of how far we have fallen that this is our game tonight.

And we went a goal behind and not that many people are surprised.

I don't want SK to fail. I just know that he won't succeed.

I'm not happy with how the team is right now but you can root against them on your own I'll enjoy the good days
