Yet another good chance ballooned over.

Two lads who went even on the original squad getting on ahead of Byrne and Cullen. WTF is going on?

Byrne isn’t a striker or wide forward.

Horgan needs to be burying that. Poor miss.

Horgan's technique there looked all at sea. It's no fluke or bad luck all these chances we spurn. Just not good enough. A mediocre squad.

Only just turned it on. Can somebody summarise proceedings? And what’s going on with this COVID-19 case? There’s a positive playing member?

Could play all week and we wouldn’t score.

One attempt on target between two international teams after 80 mins sums it all up .

True but there’s been a lot of forced change already.

They’ll probably get a chance against Finland.

Both teams are lacking a decent striker, and it's a huge issue. At club football you can bring someone in, but Shane Long and Kieffer Moore actually hinder their team; but what else can they do when there are so few options?

They won't. He's picking Hendrick and Hourihane unless they are injured

McClean goes for an early shower.

    McClean, that is fúcking stupid.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

    McClean red card.

    What a liability he is.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,603 ✭✭✭Ferris_Bueller

I think Long and Brady were wrecked and had to come off hence bringing on Horgan and Maguire. Shame as would have liked to see Byrne come on. The game is there to be won, not too dissimilar to the other night.

    McLean is brain dead

You don’t know that. I’d be surprised if Cullen doesn’t get a run.

Horgan is the love child of Duff and McClean

McClean lost the head completely out character. I am shocked!

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

James McClean doing us all proud again.

Get off the pitch and stop making a show of yourself.

Great contribution from McLean today. An absolute liability. Hopefully we don’t see him in an Ireland jersey again.

Least surprising thing to happen all day

    Sheer stupidity

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,534 ✭✭✭Chalk McHugh

McLean making a fool of himself once again and acting the thug after getting a deserved red.

Honestly don't know why he's in the squad any more. Been so poor for a couple of years now.

On a yellow so I’ll dive in. Good man jimmy.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,787 ✭✭✭Brock Turnpike

There we go. The long overdue red card that he's been looking for during his Ireland career.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,006 ✭✭✭edgecutter

Look like very little contact if any.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,690 ✭✭✭✭Skylinehead

There's no way those two tackles add up to a red.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,067 ✭✭✭✭FixdePitchmark

Mclean doesn't have the pace to take on them challenges anymore - was all a bit daft.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,954 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

McClean shouldn't have the first yellow. The referee had given a free kick for Ireland

    What's the deal like?!

A senior player doing something so wreckless when the manager is under a little bit of pressure to get his first win and half the team missing is a disgrace.

head banger does something stupid who would of thought

    McClean can't be trusted.

Kenny hasn't showed enough courage in team selection. Persisting with the big name players that are only in the team based on some performances from 4 years ago.

    Hendrick, Brady, McLean, Long.

Never want to see them play for Ireland again. No ambition, no finished product. The same slow, ponderous, frustrating performances for years now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,561 ✭✭✭Duff

    It's McCLEAN, lads.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,438 ✭✭✭j8wk2feszrnpao

McClean was unlucky with the first yellow, but not the second. Brainless when on a yellow already.

He lunged recklessly into a challenge and it was only good fortune that he barely caught Ampadu. Could've easily done serious damage if he'd been a little closer when he dived in. He's an experienced pro and should know better.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,316 ✭✭✭✭Father Hernandez

I like McClean and have zero agenda.

But if you've just been given a yellow and lunge into a challenge when you've little chance of winning the ball, he only has himself to blame.

Stupid and unnecessary to put rest of team in that position with another game midweek.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,670 ✭✭✭DJIMI TRARORE

If he had a brain he'd be twice as stupid

You could just see the lack of belief in Horgan there in that 2 v 2. Just knock it by him on the outside.

Stupidity from McClean to even attempt a challenge there, as it's now another player missing for Finland when we barely had five outfield players on the bench.
