Most of those who might have been in the spotlight have already gone. It doesn't look like there's too much left in the story now.

    Who has gone exactly ?

Hogan is is the only one to lose his job over this.

DC lost his ministerial position, hes still a TD on a big salary

Buttimer resigned a position in the Seanad but hes still a senator

    Thats it !

Grealish said I'm sorry but im not resigning, some have lost the whip but that wil be returned after a while.

They should all lose their jobs, its time to draw a line in the sand and say enough is enough we are going to hold you accountable from now on and if you screw up youre out !!

A lot of mainstream media in this country stinks to high heaven IMO.

Yep and it's worrying. I'll be honest and say I always thought RTE to be impartial and I never agreed with people arguing otherwise.
I have changed my mind on that in the last couple of years.

I thought that way myself. I used to think that most people complaining were just contraians but the Country is truely corrupt and Rte is it's Spin Doctor.

Woulfe as AG delayed a Bill which then allowed Judges be appointed.

Lads Boards merged the Seamus Wolfe thread with this one and the whole conversation has been diluted.

I started another Thread in Current Affairs on Woulfe, Hayes and the rest of the sporting crowd below. Can we post there now as this thread is dying which is probably suiting some people.

    The thread is below:
    https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2058108096

    Thanks for the link.

Just an update, that thread is now closed.

Stuff about the Nazis was a bit strong but the Mod said it was just closed because they don't want multiple threads.

Yes, they've closed two threads on Woulfe now and this thread has gone quiet.

Woulfe and Hayes still in place, very strange

Outrage by definition is short lived.

Real reform is more of a slow burn.

    Woulfe is under investigation.

Hayes is in the private sector but I'm surprised the fact that so much of the banking sector is effectively in public ownership has not come into play.

The Banks have denied they were his guests. So who were?

    I don't know.

    Who knows?

    Can they be got at?

Could he withstand being asked and refusing to disclose?

    So many questions.

He is certainly being called out. Not hard to end speculation if it's annoying/hurting you.

    I hadn't seen that.

If they were three of my old friends I'd expect them to forego anonymity and dig me out of a hole by coming forward.

Could we get the title of this thread changed?

Why, how could something as trivial as this matter to someone who has the ability to read and write?

"Very soon we are going to Mars. You wouldn't have been going to Mars if my opponent won, that I can tell you. You wouldn't even be thinking about it."

    Donald Trump, March 13th 2018.

I only suggested it as the other threads have been closed. This thread to an outsider is about the minister and not the rest. A name change would be more relevant to what the thread is about now.

    Not a bad idea really.

Maybe something like Clifden - the aftermath.

As I keep saying the focus on Phil Hogan was deliberate to stop us asking the real hard questions. They wanted him gone for narrow political pay back.
The media need to keep up the pressure on Hayes, Woulfe and Brady

Another weekend of papers to enjoy and then Dail questions next week I hope.

Agreed, I get the feeling the Mods are scared of it now.

I expect the UK are having a good laugh at the EU. It seems they may be right if the chief trade negotiator does not the simple Covid rules that every child 12+ in Europe knows.
It seems a perticular problem Ursula has is the Trade negotiator be better from one of the smaller EU countries as Countries like Germany have vested interest in this job, i expect some of the smaller countries not have experience in negotiation in English on the world stage.

Michael Barnier is the chief negotiator for Brexit
    Hogan was trade commissioner.
    Different jobs
