    Awful arrogant man. Hopefully

Alan Dukes telling Sarah McInerney that Hogan or the judges need not resign.

She grilled him about the judges but Dukes did not budge.

DC saying that it was his decision to resign and he's very sorry, should have known better etc.

Seems to be taking the narrative that he's to blame, he made the mistake and no-one else and apologizing to everyone he has let down. As we have seen before, the electorate love nothing better than to get behind a politician they feel has been hard done by.

Can see him getting a strong vote next time out...

All these hollow apologies "oh sorry I didnt mean to" - would ya go away with that bs

Hogan coming out saying he breached no guidelines. Is there no end to the pure arrogance of this man?

About as credible as "I was never in the IRA" from another high profile former Irish politician.

Of course, by implication he's also saying that Calleary and Buttimer didn't break the guidelines either. So why did they quit, Phil? Might it be because they have slightly higher ethical standards than you?

Sarah Mcinerney calling out Sean O Rourke.....yikes!

It's her last day on the show today isn't it? Going with the scorched earth policy on her way out.

Not sure about that. Listened to Mayo local radio today. He was savaged by the texts into that show.

It was also the night of the storm, Wednesday night. Anyone with half a brain would have just stayed home watching Netflix. Bet these 80 or so wished they'd have done that now,

Sickening to listen to Shane Coleman repeating ad nauseum that he felt sorry for Dara Calleary. He did not think he should have to resign.

Coleman is a massive establishment shill. A lot of Newstalkers actively look for government PR jobs as the pay is fairly crap in media if you aren't in RTE.

It's not about whether they need to it's whether they should.

If Dukes can't see that they should, then all that IBRC money he earned has clouded his ethical compass.

I don't think that's it she has been excellent since taking over, I'd say she will back on radio somewhere else pretty quick

Used to listen to Mcinerney on Newstalk and liked her. First time listening to her on RTE. Enjoying the fast pace of the show.

Any chance she'd drag Sean O'Rourke in for an interview?
She did sort of call him out, you're welcome to ring in Sean.

I wonder if Dukes talked to Hogan before he went on air?

Calleary should have resigned immediately last night following his "apology" so no question he was pushed out this morning, it was the only outcome that had to happen

Heard that it was not MM who gave him the push but there was such a huge backlash from the grassroots all over the country Calleary had no choice but to resign.

I got the impression that she has tried to contact a number of people at the dinner, O'Rourke included.

Woulfe and Phil Hogan should be in trouble tbh.

I'm surprised no mention of the Fact Aine Brady attended and she is seemingly based in Kildare....you know one of the counties that is in lockdown...

The storm is only beginning for all these 80 individuals. Listen to any radio station. Or browse social media. The general public has had enough. The anger is palpable. I see Sen Jerry Buttimer of the Seanad has resigned now. Another of the guys on the Jolly Boys Outing. I'd wager there will be a lot more heads to roll before the days end.

His spokepeople have said he isolated for the reuired 14 days - that better be true otherwise he is toast. Easily corroborated, surely?

One TD has already said he saw him at the DAil last week so...

The arrogance of Dukes on the radio is truly mind-boggling.

Maybe she’ll replace Ivan Yeats she surely had the grit to do it. Not like the ORTE luvvies
