Obviously Phil is incapable of understanding the regulations himself, he needs somebody to interpret them for him. What job is he doing again

Bet he stayed for the ****ing meal though...

Anyone got any pictures of him not quarantining on his return. I'd love to know the exact date he actually returned.

The FFG trolls will try to change the subject, don't feed them.

The domino will fall. Every person at that event will be reprimanded. Any person on the list that is not reprimanded will have to make a public statement as to why. Judges, Senators, Ministers and Moroccan Fm's.

Remember Leo's words....we are all in this together.

Phil Hogan and anyone else who looks for cover under "the Irish Hotels Federation said it was grand" excuse needs a kick in the arse on top of losing their job.

“Trickle” Hogan might have pressure put on him to resign.
    Would be delicious.
Hopefully the trickle turns in to a deluge and he has no option but vacate this sinking ship;)

I suspect there is an army of people working on this as we speak. My own view - no f***ing way did he quarantine

The Irish Hotels Federation?! Since when is an industry trade body responsible and accountable for ensuring private events at private hotels comply with legislation?

give over, a little perspective is needed here.

Oh, I think we've given this a lot of perspective. Zero tolerance policy. And about bloody time.

Not to mention a hitel federation cannot be held responsible for a politicians actions.

    Absolute nonsense this "apology"

    "Late July"

Careful not to be too specific with the exact date Phil, less someone (hopefully) produces evidence of you paying scant regard to the restrictions you are expected to be observing.

Wouldn't want anyone to accuse you of being a big swivel eyed gombeen afterall.

The storm is only beginning for all these 80 individuals. Listen to any radio station. Or browse social media. The general public has had enough. The anger is palpable. I see Sen Jerry Buttimer of the Seanad has resigned now. Another of the guys on the Jolly Boys Outing. I'd wager there will be a lot more heads to roll before the days end.

People have cancelled holidays, weddings, holidays, communion and confirmations. They have not been able to go to friends and relatives funerals. Others have had to forgoe their own parents funerals. It's no wonder the anger is palpable.

For anyone like Phil who claims that they were assured "that the arrangements put in place would be in compliance with the government’s guidelines." Then why did they stay when it was clear they weren't in place? The advice is to use common sense and remove yourself from situations that don't comply

Yeah it is. This is Phil Hogan so not entirely unexpected.

If there is anything I admire about him it's his sheer and utter consistency of being an absolute bollox in the face of scandal.

I presume that Phil was at home in Kilkenny/Kildare when he responded in this communique

    or this one
