The figures aren't great but could be worse to be honest. The figures are what we take our metric from and how we go about reacting to the situation. Don't wait until we start getting into 40-60 people a day dying. Don't let it get that far.

That's just not true. The country has been open for weeks, people have been on staycation, going to the shops, standing in lines and still nobody is dying.

The data is in and the fact is that people are not getting sick from this virus anymore. It has moved through the community, taken the susceptible and now that the majority of the population has been exposed has created community immunity.

Data saying only 1% of us have had it. Were wide open to it, we haven't had any wave that's the big problem now.

Ah Sophia Cuddly Amputee, if only you were correct, I wish you were. This virus has far from taken out the susceptible, it took out what it could reach. There’s thousands more it can and will take out if we don’t keep our guard up. We don’t have community immunity either. You might be right this time next year but the cost of that in terms of lives and illness will be an exponential of what we’ve seen thus far. Meanwhile, tired as we are of restrictions and social distancing we must stay the course. Don’t let these gob****e politicians lack of discipline derail us, or we’re no better than them. anyways back on topic......

No 1% have been exposed going by government Data...that's 99 out of 100 of us left to get it. We haven't even started.

I haven't seen that Government data and it doesn't make sense to me. How can only 1% of the population be exposed when the virus has been in circulation since last year. People have been in work, schools, syatcation, pubs, restaurants.

The reality is that people are not dying from this virus, it's that simple.

He is however the leader of the country, and he presided over a car crash presser that lead to more questions than answers. He was asked to clarify aspects of the new rules and waffled pure bolllocks.

This is the truth of it. The country has been open since late June and despite this, AND no masks, we didn't see a surge in hospitalisations or deaths.

Even now, we're seeing increases because of known incidents like the meat plants.

This disease simply isn't as virulent as was thought in March, and that's OK. At the time the information we had was limited and we made the only decisions we could. However, we've completely failed to keep pace with the updated information and actual known outcome of cases in the country.

Protect the known vulnerable demographic, ensure the necessary hospital beds are available, but beyond that - all these other restrictions should be removed immediately until such time as there is an actual justification for them.

that's a bit harsh.

We brought our 90 year old MIL to a hotel (in Offaly:eek:), but first enquired about how they were implementing the Covid restrictions. Everything was perfect, down to one way systems in the corridors, our meals were served in the humungous dining room, where sittings and number of tables ensured safety. They even used separate socialising rooms for different family groups.

We considered Skype, with her at home on her own celebrating her 90th, and all of us in the Hotel, but the broadband was crap.
