New wooden floors make crunching sound

New house, wooden floors down 8 months and they are definitely not right. The 2 upstairs bedrooms are really noisy and the hall/sitting room floors make a type of crunching sound. It’s really annoying. Can they be taken up and inspected or new underlay put in, or do they all need to be redone?
