Unfortunately the RNC seem to have the better marketing! And as someone who worked in marketing for a number of years I can see the bullsh1t, unfortunately a lot of people wont!

yeah thats what struck me last night, it was a slick marketing exercise that was largely based on tapping peoples emotions with all the sad stories followed by amazing comebacks. It was very transparent but like you say many people fall for this stuff.

The other thing (from a marketing perspective) is people get bored with policy and they tune out. So instead we end up with this kind of dumbed down politics that is all about tapping the audiences emotions with personal anecdotes.

Unfortunately you are correct, both conventions have been lacking in any real policy statments, RNC worse than DNC but jesus if Irish parties did this they would get crucified in the media, unfortunately the US mainstream media are as partisan as the parties!

Have ye noticed that every time the pandemic has been mentioned in the RNC it is in the pass tense, as if it is already over?

I am guessing from the over reactions here this is the republican version of that cringe fest the democrats had a few weeks back, I would say it is just as cringey but the video on page one is not working.

Pretty much, the vid on page one was a link to the live feed, as I was watching at the time, obviously not live now, but a search of youtube will give you lots of clips of both parties pitches, I have been watching through the TYT channel, not Rep fans but some good stuff none the less!

Pence is right. The economy and peoples pensions are going to collapse if Biden gets in. BLM was founded on Bidens watch.

What research did you do to verify that

Powerful message from the widow of David Dorn at the convention....seems the poor man has been forgotten in the mayhem that the BLM rioters have caused.

Yeah! Like being shot by a 17 yr old with an assault weapon who was allowed to walk past police who ignored him until the next day in a different state! How dare those unarmed b@stards make white supremacists shoot them! For Shame:mad:

Rudy Giulian speaking now, sorted out the crime problem in New York

So, what a rotten Republican he is then.

Seen Dana Whites speech and it was very very good. Straight, to the point and will resonate with people.

Indeed, but not much was said about it though by the mainstream media at the time. It didn't fit the agenda, sadly.

A man who devoted his life to law and order, absolute disgrace. Doesn't matter though, he was killed by peaceful protesters and not the big scary whitey, so it doesn't matter to the news, black on black deaths don't seem to matter for some reason, quite sad.

I assume you refer to the post I made inferring that most if not all of the mayhem and rioting you refer to was consistently escalated by the police over reactions

Tear gassing and shooting peaceful protesters is not however, and that is what escalates to mayhem and rioting!

Seems you cant be civil, little smart remarks designed to belittle.
Happily enough that only appeals to your own side and has no effect on me,an anonymous internet persona.

Still you havent addressed my original point, that shows a lack of character.

I think the speeches against Joe Biden are devastating.

Particularly from black Republicans who rubbish this 'defund the police' thing.

Whatever you think of Trump, the Dems are looking very weak.

Biden is weak, not just cuz his record, but he just comes across as someone who doesn't care less about anything i.e. not passionate, and is just in the game to be the one that got Trump out and get some historical recognition for it.

Biden has no strong policies, it's all just the same ole semi-socialist democratic policies. He is just a reaction to Trump, rather than he's good in himself.

On principle, I don't know how anyone could vote for Biden. If you vote for Biden just to get Trump out, then that shows you really don't care about anything, just the side you're on, for the sake of it.

It's telling, over the Dem convention, they hardly had anything to complain about substantially in terms of the performance of the Trump admin. It was all personal, he's a horrible guy and all that.

No new wars, remembering the vets, when it was thought he was a war-monger. That type of guy. But time told he's not that type of guy at all. I don't care if you don't like him personally, but I'd rather have him in power that some plastic politician nobody, who seems to have risen to the top of the political establishment by happenstance.
