SF could find themselves in a similar bind to the Officials/Workers Party.

Interestingly, they began by clamping down on republican traditional elements as did SF, and then of a sudden the old boys like Garland and Goulding who thought they could manipulate the whole thing found they had created a monster they could no longer control.

The critical mass at elected level and membership has shifted dramatically towards the woke element. The old boys in Belfast, Cross and Dublin now in their 70s won't be able to control the inevitable. They won't even be alive many of them by the time another election cycle ends.

Likes of O'Reilly couldn't give a fart about republicanism. If she did she would not have waited until she was in her 40s to jump on board and leave - assuming she has actually left - the anti national organisation(s) she was in before.

This thread is great reading. They have very little left to throw at SF

With everything they have thrown at them in 2020, SF are at their highest popularity ratings with Red C since they began.

    Keep it up lads

But can they actually do anything of real tangible substance?

    Can they govern?

All this talk of votes..it just seems so vacuous. They seem to simply attract combativeness, populism and aggro type heads..

Promising the sun, moon and stars. Knowing they can’t ever deliver, and won’t have to.

It’s the complete opposite of what allows a society to flourish and develop...

    Omerta rules in your world.

It would seem the agenda has been shared from HQ
    1. Attack her, as we seen yesterday calling her a nobody
    2. Attack her again as she shouldn't have asked any questions of the mighty SF
    3. If all else fails then just attack her some more, call her names "attention seeker" etc
How do SF deal with bullies, well they just try to bully some more.

And you can be certain that the likes of O'Mahoney in Meath were sneering at Peadar and celebrating the nasty way he was forced out.

    Hubris.

The wolves devour one another :)

T'will be fascinating to hear the response from Michael and Leo. All the pontificating Michael has done over the 'shared island' stuff means he has to comply here, does he not? Hope she writes to the Ceann Comhairle. :)

I don't know. If there was an election next week SF still wouldn't be in power after it.

What "whistleblowing" took place here, can you elaborate please?

The woman is whistleblowing on the homophobia within Sinn Fein and on the intimidatory tactics that are used to attempt to silence dissenters.

SF thugs calling round to the door of a vulnerable young woman in an attempt to silence her, and you see nothing wrong with that.

    Quelle surprise.

They're not very good at this 'silencing' craic are they?

There's very little left of SF though, none of their core values remain. They're not even the modern equivalent of the Workers Party anymore, they're Democratic Left.

FF have proven the can't govern, FG have proven they have sticky fingers and can't be allowed near anything financial, Greens can't find their way out of the house most days so claiming SF can't govern while we are being governed possibly the worst collection of people ever to sit in the Dail

    Calling SF supporters numpties.

My definition of a numptie would be after having your worst election in decades all because they based their campaign on attacking the to Shinners to continue to do the same thing, making SF even more popular

    The usual nonsense..

SF are not governing. You are pretty much espousing what they have been espousing. Protesting and criticising non stop from the sidelines..

No real zeal to actually take the reins of power and govern and make the decisions needed..

FF/FG/Greens are governing...that is the important point. But, to you, an obvious protest type voter, of course they are not..

That would depend on whether others got a visit to the door and took notice of it.

    Only saying

Still makes the 'thug' 'sent' look a bit on the incompetent side though and all that other 'intimidating' and 'visiting' that party members would be aware of doesn't seem to be working either.

Again, the obvious conclusion is usually the correct one. A chat with a neighbour being used by various agendas.
As a sign of successful experienced 'thug'ified silencing it kinda falls short.

No visits to doors needed by this Govt. Judges job on the go, Leo makes a call gets his mate appointed.
Confidential, documents, don't even need to be his friend, text Leo and he will forward you on what u need
Mícheál sitting watching it all afraid to say anything. Éamonn asleep thinking about hugging trees.
That's the standard of our Govt

That's exactly what a numpty would say.

Think I'll take a first hand account over an obsessed Shinner pretending to be a passer by.

SF house calls don't carry the threat they once did. The new generation that's flocked to SF only know theyre not FFG. So they're not too bothered about some thug at the door telling them to keep quiet.

Simple: someone like this should be expelled from the party..

Same for any party member who thinks they can go and publicly criticise and damage the party that they are a member of..

How would any organization survive when the very members are the ones that are damaging you..,

do yo mean the person expressing concerns about a shadowy semi criminal organisation ?

or the person who called around her house to curtail her free expression of her opinion ?

China has started to respond to the racist smear campaign against its people, maybe SF should do similar.

    That’s the burning question Bee.

But I surmise that you and I know the answer to that.:D

Unfortunately a solid cohort of the electorate are taken in by these vacuous promises and and fail to see that the country would be at best like a Soviet State from the 50s if these lads got in.

    Everyone miserable, but equally miserable.

Not a place forward thinking pragmatic lads like you and I could live in, I would suggest.

Getting up early in the morning to support non-triers wouldn’t float too many boats

She chose to be a member of the party, and then thinks she can just jump onto her social media to criticise and slag the party free and easy with no challenge?

Whether one likes or dislikes SF, they are still a party..

Why the such public expression of dissatisfaction here? An absolute attention seeker with a personal agenda, with no regard for her team..a me feiner.

No party would tolerate this, or at least should not..you’re either a team player or a lone wolf. And if you have issues, then follow party rules and discuss internally before running your mouth off criticising your party for likes on social media.

a knock on the door at night by some powerful un named party associate is normal ?

no party whip in sf/ira ? or is the nutting squad still going even with story dead
