I would think that if there is one hole in golf most of us want to play, its probably going to be 17 at Sawgrass.
But to have it as a bucket list course ahead to Augusta.... not a hope.

this talk reminds me of Angelos 66 at Sawgrass. for those of you who may not have heard of him before, here you go.

That was an enjoyable watch, cheers.

Imagine having to putt around the way he did the first time!

    Thats hard to watch

I was expecting him to improve in the 25 years, but he just seemed to get a little luckier this time. And kept breaking the rules, they didn't even seem to call him on his illegal drop heights. I wonder if they did would he have made it

Just checking the betting in the golf in the states.

Westwood & Lowry in the top 4 in the betting. Has to be the worst field I’ve seen on the pga tour in years. Obviously Westwood is in great form but still.

Shocking field alright, especially when so many of the top players are Florida based. Its position on the schedule hurts it badly.

Very good course to be fair, the 15th is a cracker.

Daniel Berger withdrew from Honda Classic with rib injury. Good chance for Lowry and Harrington for at least a Top 10 finish.

Maybe the wind will pick up!!

Seriously though he has talked about fatigue alot during the week, no real surprise to see him run out of gas.

215 balls in the water so far this week at the Honda

Shame the field isn't stronger but it should be a good watch regardless

What possible reason could a player have to remove their t-shirt to play a golf shot?

  • Registered Users Posts: 38,510 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Mickelson very entertaining today. He's going for it, two birdies, an eagle and a bogey through 5 holes today.
Last hole, treacherous par 3 he went for it, landed his ball about two yards over the water.

    Mud?

I see the field has been set for the matchplay next week and it's excellent

Only Woods, Woodland, Rose, Koepka and Scott missing from the top 64

    One of my favorite tournaments

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,767 ✭✭✭Deeper Blue

Jones is one of the quickest players I've ever watched

Totally forgot this was Nicklas’ tournament.

The field is so bad it seems they’ve finally stopped kissing his arse.

    Delighted.

Could be in for another interesting finish

The Memorial would be Nicklaus' tournament really, he's the host there. Just the course designer here.

That " get in the hole shout" does it annoy anyone else? Does it annoy golfers?

    Yes to both of those

Rory vs Poulter is their first match. With Cameron smith and Griffin

Hatton, Westwood, Garcia and Wallace in same group

Lowry got Rahm, Palmer and Munoz

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,767 ✭✭✭Deeper Blue

The Spieth/Wolff/Fitzpatrick group looks like one of the more interesting ones, lots of different styles

Also like the look of the group with JT, Louis and the two finalists from last year Kisner and Kuchar

What a massive first round win for Antoine Roznier. Beats Bryson 2up. Way to put yourself on Americans radar and a nice bump for your Ryder cup chances.

He seems to be one of the so called no names who has the biggest chance of making the European team.

Bryson’s style of golf does not work so well in matchplay. Each hole is played as a separate entity, so there is no point in driving the ball miles in the hope of getting an eagle. Even if you succeed you don’t get any extra benefit for winning a hole by 2 or 3 shots, it still only counts as 1 hole won. The shorter hitter, if he plays accurately, always has the opportunity to put pressure on his opponent by getting on the green in regulation.

They aren't late starting today, they started early yesterday due to the threat of bad weather, should be no issues finishing the games.

Kisner is excellent in matchplay, surprised they've never picked him as a wildcard in the ryder cup.

Hatton acting like a pre-teen again. Mcintyre holding his own vs Dustin too, happy to see that

He’s an absolute disgrace yet they do nothing but defend him.
