Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Connacht discipline very very poor today disappointing to see. Last angle they showed of the first one looked red to me and delahunt had no excuse was an elbow to the throat.

I did think Cloete late hit on Blade looked high in the one brief replay we saw so thought it maybe warranted closer inspection too......

It's all pretty academic now anyway Murphy could nearly blow it up at half time and save is all the hassle of watching the 2nd half.

Plenty on the overlap for the 3rd try and Munster still insisted on bulldozing up the forwards. No sense of heads up rugby

Toland referring to munster players by first name and Connacht players by number is grating

At least the referee is consistent with his cards. Constant infringing near the line will get a yellow.

Munster since the red cards have been awful.

That’s the point only a penalty. I rewatched it again and clear yellow. He can’t help being biased for his own team. Only natural

Even against 13 men, POM is still hardwired to cheat.

Think De Allende hit on Sexton last week should have been YC and wasnt. Cloete was borderline more as a purely stupid thing to do

Aki has been excellent since coming on. Best centre on the pitch.

DDA has been excellent as well, to be fair.

Yellow for POM. That was coming. Ref consistent anyway.

God knows what you think of the connacht players here then

Agreed. First 20 mins was very good. Pretty poor since then.

What’s the penalty count at now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,225 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

I don't know why the commentator is so surprised about Beirne's yellow. Referee has been consistent about penalising players not being on their feet at the ruck.

When Connacht have 15 against 13 you're welcome to come back to me.

    Aki is incredible.

Playing the role of 6, 8 and 12 all at once.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

Both sides should be embarrassed by this. What an appalling advert for the game. Referee has had little to no choice

    shambles of a match

    26.

    3 yellows, 2 reds. Shambles.

    Hard programmed to cheat?

There is zero need for that comment he gives away a needless penalty but that’s it

Aki is a real player, best on the pitch

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,225 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Munster needed that half time more than Connacht did. Which is incredible when you think about it.

Time for a cup of Barry’s

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

The second twenty minutes were pretty horrific from a Munster perspective.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,166 ✭✭✭✭Zzippy

Munster fully deserve the lead but worrying for their defence that even with a two and one man advantage the only way they can defend their line against 13 men is by constant infringing and offsides. Probably would have been a better option to just concede a try and get back up field with a full complement.

Shocking half of rugby there. Aki holding up Connacht & Munster struggling at the end of half.

    Shocking stuff.

Game has been an absolute shambles.

So we’re playing rugby league for the first ten of the second half. 13 v 13 with two packs of 6 each

That's an awful 47 minutes of rugby lads.

No complaints about the cards. Would like look at some of the penalty only decisions as think some of them should have been more. Terrible game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

Cloete penalty and non penalty aside, I think Murphy has done pretty well in about as testing a game as one could possibly be put in charge in

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,366 ✭✭✭yerrahbah

A bit of sympathy for Papali’i

But if you go that high for a tackle you run the risk of a red card.

No question about the 2nd Red.

Disappointed with how Munster have reacted to the 2nd red card.

    Aki has been immense

Not the type of game Munster will want the week before a Semi-Final

Was Papali'i's tackle a red? It's a very risky way to tackle with the way the laws are, but I'm not so sure there was actually contact with the neck/head. There's a whiplash effect because of the force of it and then Murray is potentially more hurt because he gets pushed into Farrell.

This suggests there was contact with neck/head:

The halftime replay was pretty damning...

There was an angle from behind the tackle where the shoulder clearly makes first contact with Murray's face. No doubt about the red card.

Aki has been like a man possessed since coming on.

A case for a penalty try there the way that was moving before Cloete took it down

No way. It's certainly not boring!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,225 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Blade did brilliantly to stop that try. Didn't commit to the tackle on Murray so he could track back on Earls.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,790 ✭✭✭✭Burkie1203

Butchering opportunities against 13 men is awful stuff

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

Time to empty the bench surely.

I'd like to see JOD on. Maul defence hasn't been great, he'd add to that.
