I am asking for a friend who is a pensioner living on his own.  He doesn't do very much cooking therefore he has Electric Ireland credit built up to near 300e.  His Old Age Pension is paid into his bank account. (Electric Ireland allowance included).  Could he change that system & get the pension paid into the bank account & collect the Electric Ireland allowance separately in the Post Office. This credit will continue to build up. He doesn't want to transfer the entire pension to the Post Office. Any help will be appreciated.

It has nothing to do with Electric Ireland.
The Free Electricity Allowance and the Pension are paid into the bank account by the Dept of Social Protection.  You need to contact them.

    Hi hillbloom,

As advised by zell12, this is a query for the Department of Social Protection, if the customer contacts them directly to have their set-up changed.

    Kind regards,
    Una
