Brekalo with a great goal to make it 2-2.

Sancho hasn't looked a 120m player in the last two England games anyway.

A good young winger a club level though.

Like the Iceland game it's Sterling who's going looking for the ball trying to make something happen
Surely aul Jack from villa is worth on punt from the right side

Well, there we are. For the first time, Graelish and Rice together, side by side for their international team. :o

Ronaldo acting the GOAT on the pitch tonight, meanwhile Messi acts the goat off it.

England much like ourselves are absolutely trash to watch. Nearly grabbed a late and undeserved winner though but don't really look a threat when they have to ball. Southgate has then playing like an team of Eric Dier's.
Thankfully that's the international football over with for another month, I won't be counting down the days for the next break.

Considering their available pool that was an embarrassing team selection from southgate, he obviously got the draw he went for. Very strange.

As bad as we are to watch they have been worse the last two games, at least we have some semblance of an excuse due to player quality.

Think we can arrange a friendly against them as a confidence booster ahead of the Slovakia game?

    Spain vs Switzerland teams:
Spain XI: De Gea; Navas, Ramos, P. Torres, Gaya; Olmo, Busquets, Merino; F. Torres, Oyarzabal, Fati.

Switzerland XI: Sommer; Widmer, Elvedi, Schar, Rodriguez, Benito; Sow, Xhaka, Freuler; Seferovic, Mehmedi.

Pleased to see Merino starts. Hope Traore gets on later as he was exciting against Portugal.

1-0 Spain. Howler from Sommer who gifts Spain possession. Merino wins it. Oyarzabal with the goal.

Traore has come on and is looking just as exciting as he did against Portugal.

Full-time and Spain win it by a goal. It could have been a bigger margin but they spurned a few chances. Oyarzabal might have had a hat-trick on a different day. Sommer looked pretty rattled after his mistake. Spain are a good side but I can't see them being Euros contenders next year as it stands. They're lacking a cutting edge up top.

All out attack from Southgate today

Strange selection by Southgate. Looks like Walker at RCB and Trippier as a LWB?
Surprised Kane is on the bench. Is he afraid to upset Mourinho?

    Belgium team:
Mignolet; Meunier, Alderweireld, Denayer, Boyata; Castagne, Witsel, Tielemans; KDB, Lukaku, Carrasco.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,106 ✭✭✭✭Tom Mann Centuria

I like Mount but Grealish really deserves to start, and wtf Pickford is still doing in goal I don't know.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

Belgium have started well. Looking a threat out wide.

And now a Belgium pen. Clumsy tackle by Dier on Lukaku.

    Lukaku converts it for 1-0.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,247 ✭✭✭Esse85

Dier proving how bad a choice he is. Himself and McGuire with Pickford in goal has mistakes written all over them.

    England penalty. Meunier fouls Henderson.

Nice pen by Rashford for 1-1.

Henderson looked like he was shot.

Anyone else think the England penalty was a little soft?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,247 ✭✭✭Esse85

Mount and Rashford aren't fit to lace the boots of the naturally gifted Jack Grealish.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Nice backheel from Lukaku but Carrasco drags it wide. Been impressed with Lukaku. England struggling to handle him.

Hard to listen to that last few minutes in studio before second half of Eng v Bel. Grealish and Rice mentioned in quick succession.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Deflected goal for Mount gives England the lead. Nothing Mignolet could do there.

Kane and Rashford both miss great chances. Belgium struggling a lot in the second half compared to first.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 18,456 Mod ✭✭✭✭DM_7

France and Portugal set up to be a good game.

Ronaldo, Bruno, Felix, Bernardo all starting. Carvalho back in midfield.

France with Mbappe, Griezmann, Pogba, Rabiot, Kante, Varane, Kimpembe, Hernanzez all back in their side.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

2-1 win for England. Wasn't their best performance but they were dogged and it was impressive given they were behind. I think they're a top CB and GK away from being a genuine contender. Belgium didn't play like the number one side in the world but I'm sure they'll be in the mix next summer.

France vs Portugal coming up. World champs versus European champs. Mbappe and Ronaldo start. Teams:
France XI: Lloris; Pavard, Varane, Kimpembe, Hernandez; Rabiot, Kante, Pogba; Griezmann; Mbappe, Giroud.

Portugal XI: Patricio; N. Semedo, Dias, Pepe, Guerreiro; Carvalho, Pereira; B. Silva, B. Fernandes, Felix; Ronaldo.

Looked it up there. FFF made own decision did same v Ukraine 1000 fans for seniors 5000 for u21.

Why not 5000 for seniors and 1000 for u21's ?

Portugal by far the better team, passing, organisation and effort are a bit above that of France, they've been fairly poor.

France were much better in the second half with Pogba actually working up a sweat. Pepe was totally solid for Portugal.
    Draw a fair result.

San Marino get their first point since 2014 after drawing 0-0 with Liechtenstein. The San Marino fan twitter was getting very excited as they were the better side.
Luxembourg in with a great shout of promotion to League B after beating Montenegro.

It's just a compression sleeve, presumably from some small bit of an injury to some part of his arm.

So as a comparison, it's more like a basketball player wearing a footballer's thigh compression sleeve. (which they do).

Watched France's 1-0 win over Portugal tonight. Good game. Kante got the winning goal after Patricio spilled Rabiot's shot. Kimpembe had another strong showing. He's one of the best CBs in the world right now, if not the best. Varane had a good showing as well. Was disappointed with Bruno Fernandes. Moutinho caused more problems when he came on.
