Right wing groups are being blamed for the emergence of the old tweets, and there was an initial drive to accept her explanation that she wasn't the same person back then (she was in her 30s, old enough to know better) but people from the groups she targeted are understandably not accepting of that explanation.

The person who portrays themselves as a victim expects to be innocent because people they don't like point out their ****tiness.

Personally, **** I've done and said when I was younger don't reflect my actions and believes these days and I'd be appalled if I was judged on my actions over a decade ago.

But if I lived my life calling out that **** and had no problem judging others, I do take a little satisfactory smirk to see these kind of people fall over themselves to apologise and make it worse

This is the crux of it, we all make mistakes in life, but if you've being playing judge, jury and executioner on Twitter then it's only fair that you are held to your own standards. She did cross a line that most decent people don't cross. There are so many tweets of hers being shared that would have made me shudder even in 2014.

Her past tweets bother me in no way. It's her vitriolic hatred for people who hold views that she held and her willingness to call them out is what makes me smile.

I'm friends with people who I am diametrically opposed to on many subjects. I don't want them to be shut down, they don't want me to be shut down

But people who act like they are the morality police and sit on an altar of virtue... It's kinda nice to see them be taken down because they are what they hate.

Serena would mop the floor with most men was what was said. In the next breath they couldn’t trip over themselves enough to say that men are privileged to be able to walk places alone.

Seems they want women to be simultaneously indestructible beings and while simultaneously being agentless delicate flowers. This was one sentence after the other.

With a background in sports science I attempted to deconstruct their argument with logic, explaining that the speed and strength differences would not lead to a good outcome. But the ladies were not to be deterred and continued with this, dismissing my argument as being sexist in nature. It was “enlightening”.
