Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

From what I can read from this post you don’t really know what universities are for and you think that people studying abroad is some sort of PC-gone-mad wokeness. Have you ever heard of exchange students, or the Erasmus programme here in Europe?

From what i can read you dont really understand what is being said to you... or the difference between ' exchange students ' and assylum seekers who arnt just happy recieving assylum... they want and expect taxpayers to forgo college oportunities and then subsequently pay tens of thousands per year per assylum seeker to give them a college education.... sound fair.. ? Its not...sound crazy ? Yes... Its because it is...

Tens of thousands on accomodation... same on healthcare and other benefits...

No we are supposed to be giving them a free college place ? And fùcking our own young people under the bus in the process... no thanks ...

He is back on youtube but the fact that cancellation was even considered in the first place says a lot about youtube.

Well, now you are just being “uncivil”.

Sorry "Emms". Thought I was being "chummy".

What's a few letters between friends anyway. :)

Hypersensitive Profanity Filter Censors ‘Bone’ at Paleontology Conference

Thomas R. Holtz Jr., a Tyrannosaurus rex expert at the University of Maryland, typed “Hell Creek Formation” in response to a colleague’s question following a presentation. But when Holtz’s message appeared in the chat, it instead appeared as “**** Creek Formation"

"Most funny to us was the censorship of ‘bone,’ which, after all, are the main thing we work with,” Holtz tells the Times.
“Words like ‘bone,’ ‘pubic’ and ‘stream’ are frankly ridiculous to ban in a field where we regularly find pubic bones in streams,”

So a guy had a video taken down by a computer algorithm, not a human, then had it reinstated without issue when a real person assessed it?

Sounds like a complete non-story to me.

I told my kid I'd get him another book by Ezra Jack Keats, after reading The Snowy Day, which is a really great book for toddlers. Keats' books happen to be about a black kid. That was signficant when he wrote and drew them because it was the 1960s. However The Snowy Day isn't about being black, it's just about a kid who goes around on a snowy day. .

So I look up his other books and read reviews about them. But of course the books are known for being diverse or inclusive or whatever - so lots of the reviews don't focus on their writing or illustrations - they just focus on their woke credentials. The top amazon review from the UK of one of them is a good example. It says it's a trade off because they like that it has racial diversity, but they don't like that it doesn't have gender inclusivity because the boys don't want to play with the girls. Four stars... That's it - the entire review.

Another review is kinda sad. It was by a black parent who liked the book because it's hard to find toddler books about black characters that aren't about race. How crazy is that?

You're being played like a fiddle. A fiddle I tells you!

Piers morgan is an expert at this. He'll find the most obscure thing, invite someone on the show who holds that opinion and put it centre stage. That way it appears as if its a mainstream opinion and a threat to the status quo. World's gone mad yada. And all the half wits at home get their knickers in a twist. A constant cycle of nonsense ensues. He wrote a book about it now. Laughing all the way to the bank.

Daily mail also do this. When will people cop on to this? Never.

Pollak and the many other incessant virtue signalers are continuously trying to out woke each other with their white guilt articles race-baiting in the process. Pollak has promoted the likes of Bulelani Mfaco, and he has have been on RTE etc

Bulelani Mfaco is a spokesperson for Movement of Asylum Seekers in Ireland (MASI), who

MASI are a dangerous organisation who seem to specialise in Social Media pile ons. If they were about certain other things that would be part of the Irish fast right boogeyman scene. Two sides of the same coin. They should get a fraction of the coverage they get.

A person refused asylum telling us how the country should treat failed asylum seekers who want to repeatedly appeal.

We really need another study into Irish taxpayers offering asylum and safety to people...... Great use of money....

Here's the text from the book. Apparently it has a negative message about gender and any reading needs to be followed with a discussion about that.

ProPublica archived more than 500 videos taken Jan. 6 that show people in and around the Capitol wearing Trump apparel, carrying Confederate flags and sporting the symbols of QAnon. Specific individuals held up as antifa activists have turned out to be Trump supporters or QAnon enthusiasts.

Tut tut. Just like the fiery but mostly peaceful riots of 2020 were led by BLM /CNN/ Antifa, and facilitated by the Democrats & other organisations linked to George Soros?

Although, not sure what all that has to do with ordinary people who wanted to protest against a perceived injustice.

Conspiracy theories are harmless stories told to make sense of power structures. Some are bizarre, some are close to the truth. They are just stories.

Eg: I like to think Wokies are actually aliens.

There is nothing woke about awarding anyone an opportunity to study a PhD.

Why should anyone be pushed backwards?

Did the Irish immigration authority even forward an applicant ?

In all fairness there is nothing woke about assuming he is a foreign national piss taker either?

Eventually that particular point ( or notion ) might just begin to get hammered home, at some stage maybe?

Agreed, it could be getting funded from anywhere.

I was just attempting to highlight the thinly veiled gripe that is becoming glaringly more obtuse from the tone of some posts, like anyone ever gave a phuck about where the tax gets spent until they want some?

It is clear to me that much of the begrudgery does not fall along the lines of pining for wasted state funds....

The 'wokiesm' is the interference of a hotbed of critical theorists (college/university) basically trying to sway a judicial process (this guys appeal against deportation as the authorities do not believe he is genuinely seeking asylum)

You obviously don't work in corporate :D

Maybe they might have an opening for a grievance student as a diversity officer.

But the only reason corporates are interested in diversity is to facilitate a supply of cheap labour, at the expense of older workers. There is no finely-tuned morality at play.

Would be pretty soul-destroying to discover that, aiming for a PhD. Better off going to the school of hard knocks..:pac:

Valid point in fairness. Still not fundamentally woke though?

There are succinct benefits of having an asylum seeker study a PhD concurrently, for both student, college and arguably the pertinent state.

I said it earlier many PhD's may feel wishy washy to the average eye, but that does not, or at least should not, deplete from the relevance of the study.

My brother was paid to do his phd in computer engineering. But they owned his research. the patent like

It was part owned by a company and part owned by the uni.

Many adjunct professors actually ...are not paid by unis ...but by companies.

You get lots of masters that are doing testing on components for companies etc.
