If you order the recruiter sims and give them to them then they all get a free month after the buy the first month. And you get 7.99 credit for each sim they activate.

I get 4 free months so?
    That's great!

I’ve found it brilliant so far.
I can call people and talk that I couldn’t do unless on WhatsApp before.

*but each to their own. Your location may differ to mine.

Did you register the SIM on 48.ie?

Did you manually input and save the APN settings?

Different phones may not require all of these, or they may be worded slightly differently. If you’re unable to edit the current settings, press the Menu key or icon to add a new APN.

    1. Name- 48 Internet
    2. APN - 48months.liffeytelecom.com
    3. Proxy - Not set
    4. Port - Not set
    5. Username - user
    6. Password - Not set
    7. Server - Not set
    8. MMSC - http://mmc1/servlets/mms
    9. MMS proxy - 10.1.11.19
    10. MMS port - 8080
    11. MCC - 272
    12. MNC - 11
    13. Authentication type - PAP
    14. APN type - default, supl, MMS
You will then need to save it and check if you can access Mobile Data.

PayPal specifically works, had to use it today. But you really should move to a 3rd party app Authenticator vs SMS.

    Can you elaborate?

With ptsb they ask you to receive a text for some online visa payments

It will be fine, I was on 48 until 3 months ago, ported to VF then back to 48 2 weeks ago and no issues. Even got away with using the same email address as before, for some reason.

Don't port until after you buy first membership.

Bit of advice if thinking of porting to 48, do plenty of speed checks, mine was very erratic today, seldom had 4g, been testing with their number with the 7.99 membership, with intention of porting next week, but now have my doubts,

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,570 ✭✭✭bassy

im on eir i got it free for 12 mths cause i have eir bb in the house so the offered me 12 mths free eir mobile and the speeds are horrible here, got my mum on 48 other day and speeds are similar to eir here both crappy regards download upload etc

but i do live in a rural spot, but that should,nt make a difference as i can see the mobile mast on a hill away about 2 miles.so i dunno what the story is...........................................

If he's on Virgin, his speeds will be exactly the same.

I got the sim a few weeks ago. Topped up with credit to make & receive calls. It's terrific value. I'm with Virgin and the main difference for me is virgin have decent customer service, a better mailbox setup and they have a great call catcher system for times people call you while you are on another call. I run a business with dozens of calls, missed calls and voice messages every day. I still cannot make up my mind. 25 euros per month for call catcher and better voice mail or 7.99 per month & possibly lose the odd customer.

As I said terrific value but harder to contact than GOMO.

I want to port my number to 48 from Gomo, but I can't cancel my card from Gomo site, will Gomo still be able to take payment from me after I've ported my number to 48?
