Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Mathewson has done well in terms of clearing the ball away but he looks a little tubbier than he did in Limerick and isn't exactly sprinting to rucks. Has there been an effort to beef up the team in Ulster? Multiple players looking heavier than they used.

I might be paranoid but I reckon Stockdale is getting bad S&C advice, looks top heavy and slower. He was never the quickest but he had a good first few yards and they were key for all the breaks he used to make.

Hume very lucky not to have a penalty against him there for that challenge in the air.

Ian Madigan skip passes in knockout rugby.

    Getting PTSD flashbacks there

He's maturing physically in fairness, I think his physical edge is priceless, he's like a decent backrower

Oh hello. Definite penalty. He knew it as soon as he did it too.

McCloskey hyper extended his knee there I think..

    David Nucifora
Stockdale with two clutch moments down the wing.

    Ulster to win now.

Insane stuff. They went through multiple phases in their own half. Asking for a breakdown penalty against them.

Edinburgh indiscipline hands them a lifeline yet again.

Can mads pay back his transfer fee in this kick??

Hard to think this could win the match for Ulster.
They were muck until 25 minutes ago.

Who knew Ian Madigan would be a more crucial signing for a province this summer over Damien DeAllande and RG Snyman.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

Bet Munster wish they had signed Ian Madigan now....

THIS is the moment Madigan was signed for...

Edinburgh have been visible gassed the last 15 minutes.

Go on. Say who you're talking about.

Fair play Ulster. Serious work to be done to take on Leinster mind.

    That's focking mad

Fair play to Ian Madigan. Two massive kicks.

An awful first half followed by a completely mad second half.

Edinburgh will feel (rightly) terrible after this. Ulster were a shambles for 50 min and yet somehow come away with the win.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,617 ✭✭✭lawrencesummers

Typical scots, bring a shed load of Ferocity to a war and lose.

Leinster could put out either of last years schools Cup finalists and still win the league final.

There are few players I'd rather have in that position than Madigan. Delighted for him.

Edinburgh need a psychologist on staff, stat.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,225 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

How on Earth did Ulster win that? It took them 50 minutes to actually start playing.

Both Ulster and Madigan needed that. Delighted - great stuff.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,229 ✭✭✭A-Train

Ulster blessed, rubbish for 55 mins and really turned up when they required it.

    Subs made a massive difference.

Wow. Just wow. Great to see Madigan back in Ireland

    Yeah.

    Stockdale looks a right heifer.

Yep. Delighted for Madigan. You can see what it means to him.

    David Nucifora
    Fairly straightforward victory.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,723 ✭✭✭✭Squidgy Black

Have to say, after he got dropped out of the squad almost altogether for Bristol last year, and his stints in France not being great, I'm absolutely delighted to see Madigan get another chance.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,342 ✭✭✭Locke_Lamora

Leinster could put 60 on us and it still won't wipe the smile off my face. Ulster doing just enough to keep me coming back for more, love it.

Brilliant by Madigan. He was always gonna slot it. As good a clutch kicker as you're likely to see in any club.

I remember there were Ulster fans nonplussed about Dan McFarland coming in. He's done wonders.

McGrath, Moore, Reidy looks like he's carrying a bit of a wide load, Mathewson, Murphy is looking doughy, Stockdale not looking as trim as he did either. Maybe it's the jerseys.

He may do but he made two excellent plays down the left wing which led to the winning penalty. A mixed bag of a performance overall but he came up strong at the end.

Fair ****s to Ulster for that comeback

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,599 ✭✭✭ScrubsfanChris

Fair play to Ulster. By far the fitter team gong into that final quarter.
Edinburgh a penalty machine and don't help themselves any bit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,617 ✭✭✭lawrencesummers

Munster should take note, that’s what a plan B looks like.

Mathewson and Madigan given time to impact a game that is being lost and they turn it around.

We all know what happened the last time Ulster beat Embra in a SF and played Leinster.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

    Unreal!
Brilliant second half performance, ballsy to back the maul after it was destroye fin the first half.
Credit for emptying the bench too.

Edinburgh all bark and no bite when the pressure is on.
The media will blame Willemse over here but their golden boy Kinghorn pulled out of collecting that box kick

Fairly sure that has never happened before.

Like I said...THAT HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE.
