You are correct about the cheaper 7100 series having the higher contrast.
The 7400 will support Dolby Vision the 7100 does not.
The 7400 has the higher motion processing.
The 7400 uses a higher operating sytem using Vidaa U 4.0 the 7100 series uses Vidaa U 3.0
Also the 7400 has Alexa built in (Region depending).
Both are styled different with the 7400 has the central pedestal where a the 7100 has feet at either end.
I hope this is of help.

Just received TV today, setting it up but when selecting the Location, Ireland doesn't appear in the list? Is there something I can do to fix this?

It's not a TV I have set up myself so I'm not 100% sure.
You could try their customer to support to see if they have a way around it: 0333 800 2200
Let me know how you get on!

Hi David,

Unfortunately, you will be unable to select the Ireland option as a country as the TV is manufactured for UK and Northern Ireland.
I really am unhappy with this, why are you selling TVs that can't be set up in the region? My channel selection for saorview is all messed up and RTE1 is channel 802. There doesn't appear to be anyway to modify this so when switching between channels instead of just pressing '1' on remote i have to type 802. 804 etc

This is a first for me.....
All of our TV's have been usable in the South Of Ireland with no issues so far.
I'll see what i can find out at this end.
Of course if you are not happy with the TV there is no issue in returning it. We would not leave you with a product we are unhappy with.

if you could look into it, maybe this information from manufacturer is not right, i just got fobbed off and told to email their marketing department.
I like the TV so dont really want to return, I just dont like the fact that my old 50 LG allows me to set it to Ireland and the channels come through in the correct numbers but this set appears to have zero configuration around this....0 -

Thanks, so you are saying Samsung TVs also have the same behaviour? The main problem with not being able to set regions is that being forced to choose UK means that Freeview becomes the DTV service - while the Irish DTV stations are detected as they are not part of the freeview offering so the TV automatically it puts them in 800+ range.
I appreciate the offer to return but I was really hoping for a solution by means of firmware upgrade. If this definitely isn't possible then will consider alternatives.
Cheers,
Xcellor0 -

For some reason I had thought that you had purchased a Samsung but now I see its a Hisense.
It would seem that this is going to be the case unfortunately.
Upon thinking back even to last years models a lot of them do infact put the Saorivew stations in the 800's when they are tuned in.
I always forget about this as it never really comes up.
I don't have any Hisense screens on display that I can that I can check out.
If you leave it with us I'll see if there are any that will put the Saorview stations first and that can be set as Ireland.
It seems a lot of manufacturers have reduced the locations that they can be set to for some reason.
Samsung now only list :
USA, Mexico, Brazil, Canada, UK, Finland, Norway, Sweden or Denmark
I can't seem to find anything about Hisense's locations online. I'll see if we can get a hold of there tech team and revert back.
Let me know your thoughts.

I'm not sure whats going on with the Manufacturers as the TV's we sell are made for both the UK and Ireland market and if you purchased from one of our competitors in the South they are the exact same models and spec.
There will be no issue in exchanging for another TV.
I'll see if I can get the guys working at the store either today or tomorrow to check the Panasonic and Sony's that we have on display to see what locations they can be set to.

Kenny.
OK decided on the 7400 series order place! Thanks.
Thanks for the order.
Kenny.
Just received TV today, setting it up but when selecting the Location, Ireland doesn't appear in the list? Is there something I can do to fix this?
Cheers,
Xcellor
It's not a TV I have set up myself so I'm not 100% sure.
You could try their customer to support to see if they have a way around it: 0333 800 2200
Let me know how you get on!
Kind regards
David

Kenny.
if you could look into it, maybe this information from manufacturer is not right, i just got fobbed off and told to email their marketing department.
I like the TV so dont really want to return, I just dont like the fact that my old 50 LG allows me to set it to Ireland and the channels come through in the correct numbers but this set appears to have zero configuration around this....
I have a call out to Samsung but I also checked one of the new QLED's and I can't find a way to change it to Ireland either.
Even in the Smart Hub locations it is not included.
I'll wait on them getting back to and see where we go from there.
There will be no issue in returning the TV if you wish to do so.
Kenny.
Cheers,
Xcellor
Kenny.
It appears they've launched their products for an Irish market and assumed this is part of the UK.
It's a real shame. If I want to exchange to another TV , is this an option?
I'm not sure whats going on with the Manufacturers as the TV's we sell are made for both the UK and Ireland market and if you purchased from one of our competitors in the South they are the exact same models and spec.
There will be no issue in exchanging for another TV.
I'll see if I can get the guys working at the store either today or tomorrow to check the Panasonic and Sony's that we have on display to see what locations they can be set to.

I've been looking at other options around my price point the Philips 55PUS7805 is probably closest, I can pay the difference between the two sets.
Could it be arranged to drop off and pick off in the same slot? 0 -

Yeah I have had not luck from Hisense either
We do have the Philips 55PUS7805 in stock so no issue in switching to that if you would like?
It can be arranged to be delivered and the Hisense collected at the same time.
Let me know your thoughts.
