Stay tuned for the Round of 16 folks. It's coming up next. As before, it will be 30 minute matches with most votes being declared the winner and progressing to the quarter final stage. Any tie-breakers will take reasons into account. The draw will be made randomly.

Carlos Alberto (Brazil vs Italy, 1970)

    VS

Maxi Rodriguez (Argentina vs Mexico, 2006)

My vote is for Carlos, build up is a bit slow but good team goal and the dribbling in the middle part is very good

    Carlos Alberto

Maxi. As sweet a take and stroke as you can see.

Love the the final pass and finish for Carlos Alberto, but as a goal it gets too much Kudos just because it was Brazil.

    Vote for Maxi Rodriguez.
I really like this stop control and shot straight away, all in one go

    10 mins to go

Gonna go Carlos Alberto, its a little over-rated, but still a wonderful team goal

    Has to be Rodriguez.

It's easy to look good in the searing heat when you are already 3-1 up with only a few minutes left

Maxi for me, brilliant control and strike and looks f#### class

The Brazil goal was all about the build up, Italy had all but given up, 3-1 down with 5 mins left.

    Voting Maxi

Right so we go into the dreaded shootout. Let's see who gave valid reasons...
My vote is for Carlos, build up is a bit slow but good team goal and the dribbling in the middle part is very good

    Perfect. 1-0 to Carlos Alberto

    No reason given. Stays 1-0

    That levels it up. 1-1

Mention of team goal validates the point. 2-2

This isn't a reason for Rodriguez but it does actively say why the Brazil goal is lesser. So a point can be awarded. 3-2 to Maxi

Rounded off with another validated point for Maxi. 4-2

    Maxi Rodriguez wins.

We are gonna go from one Rodriguez to another here and this really is a Battle of the Thunderbastards. I implore you to watch both in their entirety as both looks awesome from various angles. I'm very invested in this match coming up...

Dario Rodriguez (Uruguay vs Denmark, 2002)

    VS

Tim Cahill (Australia vs Netherlands, 2014)

Cahill, two great goals, but that pass and finish is fantastic

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,369 ✭✭✭✭Kolido

Both very similar, but voting Cahill as I think it was the more difficult one to score

Dario Rodriguez the finish is top class, but the 2 keepy ups and pass are just filthy

    10 minutes to go

I'll vote for Tim Cahill too, the angle that the ball comes to him seems a bit steeper and makes it a bit more impressive

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,293 ✭✭✭Reberetta

    Cahill

    Dario Rodriguez 1-4 Tim Cahill

Dario is like Cahill but with extra volleys. More is better, so it gets my vote

The Aussie blasts into the last 8. Next up is a bit of civil warfare as we have two stars from the same nation going head to head. Which effort do you think is better?

    Ronaldinho (Brazil vs England, 2002)

    VS

Josimar (Brazil vs Northern Ireland, 1986)

Josimar for me- stunning finish. Pretty awful goalkeeping for the ronaldinho goal.. still a beauty though!

I'll vote for Ronaldinho. A superb free kick even if Seaman was out of position
