Quick question whether I'll be able to cash a cheque from a relative or will I need to Lodge it to my account which I would prefer not. I would prefer cash to Lodge/spend as required.

As far as I know he is Ulster bank and I am bank of Ireland. I also have a post office account.

    Info much appreciated.

    You will need to lodge.

There is a possibility the issuing branch (and only that branch) may still cash it, with ID - UB do not have information specifically about this on their site but that was their old policy

Lodge and wait 3+ days otherwise.
