It is eliminating the possibility that people with symptoms have the virus so that they can go back to their normal routine.

The people of Ireland have stopped listening to the government and NPHET. I truly believe that the Clifden dinner had a major influence on that. I dont think I have ever seen the population so angry as it was after that event and Hogans mystery your. I am not sure how the government can get back hearts and minds.

Without solid death figures of 40-50 people a day the virus has been demoted from any level of importance for a lot of people.

There's vacancies nationwide never mind a reserve.

Science degrees are not the same as an accredited, registered qualification. The same as science degrees cant be used for other HSCP professions.

And no one would want to work for less pay, poorer conditions and unsocable hours in the current state.

It would be interesting for RTE to bring on an actual working doctor in one of the busiest COVID hospitals like Beaumont or the Mater to give an actual opinion on the way things are right now. We don't seem to be seeing news reports of armageddon ICUs from Spain/France, for example.

I heard on the news over the weekend that in England, people are faced with up to 10,000 pounds fine of they are caught breaking isolation rules. That's proper order imo. We really need our government to bring in large fines for people who are going to break the guidelines on masks and social distancing and isolation guidelines.

I was looking at an old spreadsheet and I think there is an extra 275 from private hospiat beds but I could be wrong on that.

The academy have a lot to answer for due to their past restrictive criteria. There were plenty of people I know with primary degrees/masters and even PhDs who would have loved to have transitioned into a career as a medical scientist but couldn't face completing an entirely new degree to qualify. There should have been conversion courses for experienced biologists to transfer over.

The celeb doctors and experts don’t help. Not hard to sneer at some like O’Toole when you full well know they’re increasing their profile in the media from this.

I know at the start, the one input that really affected me was Catherine Motherway I think on prime time. The likes of O’Toole and celeb docs are constant scaremongers, while loving the media coverage where they get to play referee in a tone deaf Claire Byrne Covid quiz.

What would it achieve at present? Thankfully general hospital numbers and ICU numbers are low at present.

Surely the original documentary does a good job of showing what an increase of cases can lead to and hopefully we won't have to see it again?
