The Great Reset "will lead to devastation worse — “much, much worse” — than the Weimar Republic, a German economist has warned".

"Dr Antony Mueller, Professor of Economics at the Federal University of Sergipe in Brazil, says that the coronavirus ‘pandemic’ is being used as cover by the globalist elite to destroy small businesses and hasten a new world order based on “expertocracy, climate green religion, and brutal depopulation”."

Dr Mueller describes what he believes the purpose of the lockdowns and the Great Reset are. The article is very interesting and well worth reading. I don't think we're allowed to copy and paste articles, so people can read the article via the link I posted above. And this isn't "a crank on YouTube or Twitter" saying this. This is an experienced and respected economist.

See my reply to the other poster re https://greatreset.com/ (the other 'great reset'). It says on the website that we need to maintain the same decrease in global emissions every year until 2030 "as if we were living in lockdown".

Oh, I should also say that the quote above is conflating two different things to draw a certain conclusion. The pause during lockdown (which only lasted about a month and a half) resulted in a reduction of 7% in global emissions (citation required). The UN states that we need to reduce emissions by 7.6% every year until 2030. This doesn't mean we need to maintain a lockdown situation every year until 2030. What happens in 2031? Do we just stop trying to reduce emissions? The global lockdown over a month and a half could be spread out over the entire year. Less international flights. Research into more sustainable renewable energy. It's all very feasible without a continuous lockdown scenario that you envisage.

True but they're saying that we should live "as if we were living in lockdown" between now and 2030. That means lockdown like conditions (limits on movement, travel restrictions etc) until 2030.

It's not a conspiracy theory if they tell you what they're planning. They want us to live as if we were living in lockdown until 2030. That means lockdowns until 2030 if they get their way. How could people live as if they were living in lockdown unless they were locked down?

As I explained in a previous post, they are conflating two different things. They're adding 2 and 2 and getting 5. They don't say that they want us to live as if we were living in lockdown until 2030. We won't be locked down until 2030. As I also said earlier, we weren't even locked down completely since March.

It's a speculative opinion piece about the future which the author put a big disclaimer on: that it's a speculative opinion piece about the future

If someone wants to write that 10 years in the future we might e.g. be living in space, and someone retweets that, you do realise it doesn't mean there is some dystopian global conspiracy to put us into space in 10 years..

Lockdown measures have different levels. A full lockdown is better for reducing the virus, but has harsher economic drawbacks.

They have to balance reducing the virus with the impact the lockdown has on the economy..

This has been repeatedly explained here as someone would explain to a child, yet from your comments it's clear you still can't grasp or understand it, which is a common theme among people subscribing to these silly conspiracies and denial about the virus.

Serious question. Have you ever travelled outside of Ireland?
Do you realise that most people in the world don't have access to rte and the vast majority of people in other countries have never heard of it. Some couldn't even find Ireland on a map. If you are to be taken seriously maybe come up with some global examples and form your own opinions and not those written in a book you haven't read.
