If Betis can nick the win they'd be in with a shout of the Champions League places. That should be a fascinating derby.

Speaking of derbies, that was a big equaliser from Benzema. If Atletico had won that, I think Madrid were done. Madrid don't look capable of anything special unless he's involved.

    Good win for Atletico tonight.

Winning their game in hand to go 6 clear at the top.

    Joke.

Just wait till you see Wednesday evening when they turn the PSG tie around.

    What happened Tom?

How did Athletico miss all those chances

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,295 ✭✭✭✭MisterAnarchy

If Barcelona beat bottom side Huesca on Monday the gap will be down to 4 points.

Athletico slipping up again. At one stage I thought they'd ran away with the league.

    Exciting finish ahead.

Its amazing how often this happens, across the main leagues.

Off hand in very recent times I can think of Juve and Bayern doing it, and I'm sure theres far more without much looking.

The mainstays fall way behind and don't exactly go on a Man City type winning streak and still find a way back to the top.

Barca and Real are literally at their lowest ebb in years, and still A.Madrid still look like they're going to blow it despite having a big lead.
Its still in their hands but the writing is on the wall now.

Heroic stuff from Benzema yesterday. Crazy how reliant Madrid are on him.

Important win for Sevilla in the derby. They're looking good for a CL spot. If they beat struggling Elche on Wednesday, they'll have a 9 point lead over Sociedad.

0 -0 Athletico Getafe, all results continue to benefit Barca, it's a FHUERKING JOKE!!!!

at one stage AM were 11 pts clear of them, I even knew then that Barca 100% would win the league.

    Thank christ for PSG.

Lovely solo goal from Fekir in Betis' 2-0 win over Levante.

He didn't make Deschamp's recent squad, so a place at the Euros is looking a long shot. I think he's unfortunate as he offers some flair that could be useful to them as an impact sub.

Benzema is on fire this season, I reckon he will tear Liverpool to bits in the Champions League.

Huge concern against an inexperienced CB line alright. It'll all come down to whether Fabinho/Gini/Thiago/TAA/Robbo can cut off the supply to him really. Starve him of possession in dangerous areas and force him come deep. Much easier said than done though - definitely a massive threat.

Nice finish by Bono. Ireland could do with him up front.

Benzema is having a fantastic season. I'd like to see him pick up some silverware but it will be a big ask. There's no CF that can use the ball quite like him. Saw this great video recently about how he operates in tight spaces:

Suarez does the business again for Atletico in a very important slender win. 6 clear of Real and 7 clear of Barca who have a game in hand.

Barcelona 5-1 up away to Sociedad, one of their bogey grounds.
Bar the poor performance at home to PSG, Barcelonas form is very good.
    Could still win the double.

Messi has been quietly having a great season. If most players were hitting these numbers it would be big news, but we're normalised to his brilliance so it gets taken for granted.

Suarez, Benzema and Messi have been having huge campaigns. It's a shame two of them will miss out on a title.

Called him "negro de mierda". The Valencia players then had to come out and play as La Liga said they would be deducted points if they didn't. The only time a game has been cancelled of late was when a Ukranian player for albacete who has connections to the far right was getting chants from the stand in Vallecas where Vallecano play. They cancelled the match and played at a later date but for racism its play on lads.

La Liga will pay for that. They'll come under immense criticism, and deservedly so, but they'll weasel out of it by severely punishing the player.
What would be great is if all the top players came out criticizing la liga for it.

Poor decision by La Liga but the player in question will probably be made an example of.

Barca win with a last minute winner.
1 point behind Atletico but with all the momentum.

Bookies now have them as favourites

    Barcelona 11/13
    Atletico Madrid 2/1
    Real Madrid 5/1

Big week for Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Real play Liverpool tomorrow, El Classico on Saturday and Liverpool again next Wednesday.
Barcelona have El Classico on Saturday and the Copa Del Rey final the following Saturday.

    Should be some entertaining games.

    Huh.

68% possession to Barcelona, similar amount of shots on goal for both sides.
    Both sides hit the woodwork.
    Flukey goal for Kroos.

    Horrific weather in Madrid.

Terrible miss by Griezmann, just as well he was offside.

Busquets is a complete liability, his legs are gone, cant get back when Barcelona lose possession.

Real were well on top. Barca defence couldn't handle Vinicious at all. Possession stats count for nothing really.

Barcelona are a bit too gung ho, they are only a goal down .
Cant be constantly leaving huge gaps at the back.

How, its a 1 point table? Had Barca scored, it would have widened it at the top as RM would be on 64 and 2 points behind with the draw.
