Can anyone recommend a band for some music, it's a small wedding (30 guests) in a country house style venue in the Limerick/Clare area

Sorry, it's a small venue, looking for some ambient/mood/background music...

Hire or borrow a speaker system, and make a playlist, hook it up. If it's background ambient you want, this might be the handiest option.

Acoustra are good, or if you wanted something more ambient there guitarist and lead singer (Liam McCarthy) does solo gigs. He does some excellent Paulo Nutini etc

What band gets €200 for a gig? An average pub gig, say a band with 3 in it, would get roughly €100 each for a 2 hour gig. Roughly. Some might get more depending on the band etc. 2 man band might get €200 for a gig, 1 man might get €150, on average...

Same band could play a wedding and might get €1,000 for it. Could be more, could be less.

They'd usually play for around 2.5 hours, break in between for "tea and sandwiches" etc. May tailor the set to suit the wedding etc. They'd probably have to arrive during dinner, and hang around and wait to set up etc. travel to gig etc. The time that goes into setting up gear, taking it down, learning songs etc.
Is a €1,000 a rip off? Who knows. How much is a wedding photographer v what they would charge for a regular job on a Wednesday? Someone playing with backing tracks is a rip off.

But a small wedding of 30? Hook up a laptop to speakers, and get a spotify playlist. Make sure you have enough power in the speakers though.
