    Limerick 2-9- Waterford 0-7 HT

We got it back to 5 but gave away a goal shortly after. If we can score an early goal you never know but Limerick seem very comfortable

No improvement at all unfortunately this year.

Yeah its sadly not our day, ffs another goal given way

Cruel we only got back training was it 19th April and a little over 2 months later the season is over. 4 competitive games, 1 win and 3 loses all of which were heavy

    Horrible day for the Footballers

    Full time- Limerick 4-18 (30)- Waterford 0-12

Fair play to the team and the management for giving up there time to play/manage and represent the county. Will be a different landscape next season with the Tailteann Cup

What side will be more happy with the appointment of Colm Lyons as referee for the game vs clare tomorrow ?

it's rare a ref won or lost a game, a bad ref is bad for both teams, and in a high scoring game like hurling it tends to balance out.

we need ot get away from the victim complex and get on with it .somedays it goes with you, somedays it goes against you, we havent had 62 years of bad referees,we just werent good enough overall .

Best of luck to the team and management tomorrow.. Hopefully this will be our year

Strange how I know several people in Kilkenny who used to love certain refs as it suited their game ie. leaving more fouls go, but that would kill your narrative of victim complex etc that a ref could affect a game. Everyone who thinks a ref can affect a hurling match in Waterford clearly has a complex anyone who disagrees should just get on with it.

Edit: I will say the refs are sometimes unfairly blamed for a loss in a game, but equally Ive seen refs totally influence the game with a strange bias, this ignoring what some refs will or will not blow for, or inconsistent reffing between halves

Understand why we can’t but oh to be in Thurles this afternoon, in that heat, with the ball hopping off the ground.

should be alot more than 200 at it though, nobody is demanding full capacity and we all understood the sacrifices after xmas etc. but its a piss take at this stage.

The name Fergal Horgan would not have to many friends in Waterford .

At one time we used run in to a brick wall that was a very strong Kilkenny or Cork team, now we run in to Horan

If either team is worried or concerned about the ref then their heads aren't in the right place and they haven't a hope.

Maybe but on the other side of it maybe it would be better to be aware of a refs likes and dislikes, theres not a rugby player at provincial level who doesnt know what the ref will blow for. Some will blow for any drag or pull whereas others will let you drag pull and slap someone with a hurley all day.

Once the ref is consistent then it shouldn't be an issue for either team. Hearing there might be a surprise starter on Waterford team today

Are prunty and Barron definitely out ? Barron will be a major loss ..

Will they put Lyons on Kelly again?

Leaked alot of goals over the league campaign too

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,834 ✭✭✭Cake Man

Best of luck to Liam and the lads today. Will be a tough one with the players we have missing but hopefully the forwards can continue showing their blistering form and savage hunger for goals. Combine that with a damage limitation exercise on Kelly and Shanagher and we’ll be in with half a shout.

    Up the Deise

Some experimental lineups and a lack of sharpness contributed towards many of the goals, Id be surprised to see us make the same mistakes today even with so many out.

All the best to team and management today. Big ask with the boys we are missing but hopefully the likes of darragh Lyons and Peter hogan can step up. Lovely Munster championship weather out there. Would be only lovely to be heading to thurles

exactly take a page out of the rugby book and play the ref as much as you play the opposition, no excuse for not knowing what a ref is about ,very small panel of ref's and plenty of footage and match reports.

champions dont make excuses about ref's ,they get on with it.

    Any idea who ?

They dug up Val Doonican last night, he is going in full forward.

Keith Barry is going in goals.

Amazing that we only have 8 starters from the all Ireland last December starting today. if we can keep the goals conceded low we have a great chance. would dearly love to be in thurles today, but best of luck to team and management today.

Genuinely looking at any newspapers, commentators and online everyone expects Clare to spring a surprise and win. We'll see what the rte panel has to say now
