Probably a stupid question but is there anyway to turn down a role and be moved back long the queue?
Or is it just accept or leave the panel?

If you don't accept an offer your application will be deemed to have be withdrawn from the competition.

worth explaining whatever your reasons for wanting to delay are to PAS when they contact you - if it is in any way valid they might be understanding and move on to let the rest of the batch through and come back to you at the end. it will of course be qualified with a 'we cannot guarantee we will reach your number before the panel expires' disclaimer! it would also depend on the length of time you want to delay. they expect that people have to serve notice periods etc. I think 2 - 5 weeks is range for people to start after clearance is complete. always worth a shot engaging with them, they are very helpful.

Has anyone reading this thread been called from the IGEES economist and policy analyst panel? If so do, what was your OOM?

Recieved the same email yesterday but had no reply yet.

    Thanks

I'm the same. Sent another email today just before cutoff to make sure they got email. Im sure they do have it but its just a bit annoying when certain emails get an autoresponse and others dont.

Do you mean your interview is next week? That’s not much notice! Mine is in April.

Sorry I wrote that wrong before. My interview is the 30th March and presentation 7th April. General stream for me too.

Actually my reading compression continues to be terrible. The 30th is actually a test session just to make sure the Zoom platform works ok, and the 7th is my actual interview and presentation date.

Has anyone whose been called for batch 1.3 tried sending their photo ID yet? I've tried but the email bounced back saying the mailbox was under maintenance. Just me or is it happening to others too?

    NVM fixed it

I’m the same! That’s a much more reasonable amount of time to prepare.

What have you submitted so far - original application, originsl tests, detailed form. Is that it?

The booklet talks about recorded video interviews but I can't remember anyone in this thread talking about them. Did that stage happen?

Can I ask what your oom was?

I think the recorded video interview was only a stage for the specialist streams and not general.

Congratulations! I got a date of April 8th for my interview & presentation, im in batch 1.3. I'd absolutely love to know if there is a possibility of working from home in the AO role? I wonder if this is across the board at AO grade or perhaps it depends on the office youre placed in? Thanks in advance ☺

    Hi Guys,

The results are out... Uff.. I'm batch 1.2 in the 40s.. Does anybody know how many people were hired last year from the general stream? How many people are in batch 1?

    Thank you!

Congratulations! I've just received a message today to tell me my interview and presentation is on April 8th and I'm in batch 1.3 but they did not tell me my OOM. Do I have to email them to find out my OOM? Thanks in advance

    Hi Guys !
I have recently received the e-mail from PAS to start the clearance process. The offer is for AGS and involves a special GV procedure. It says in the e-mail that it can take up to 14 weeks . It's a little bit too long ... Does anyone have any experience with this special type of GV ? Does it really take so long? I guess I'm very excited and I would like to start as soon as possible.
    Thank you !

The OOM is from your initial online assessment and then post-interview, if successful, you will be assigned a new OOM for the 1.3 batch panel

Did PAS advise you what you were to be starting in the AG’s or did you ask? Because I got a very vague statement along the lines of

the HR section of the department you have been assigned to will then be in contact with you

type statement in my email, almost as if where I was being considered for hadn’t been decided on or finalised yet and wouldn’t be until I pass clearance and I thought that was how it had been for others, you wouldn’t be assigned a Department/Office until you had passed clearance. Maybe I picked that up wrong from previously posted comments here.

My oom is before you and I haven't received any clearance details yet apart from the initial email. I don't understand their system sometimes.

I was also told that I'd be put in AGS – this was at the PAS's initiative in the Clearance email, and I presume it's to explain why there are two separate GVs taking place simultaneously and why one is going to take so long. Much like your general message, they did write that details of the placement would be provided by HR following Clearance.

This process is known as security clearance, rather than Garda vetting, although Garda vetting is one of the strands to it. The lead time depends on many factors, but particularly where you have lived - if you've lived anywhere abroad, they will have to contact the police there to determine if you have any convictions or outstanding charges, etc.

AGS is An Garda Síochána. I presume that PAS was so specific early on due to the security clearance process, which they have to start as soon as possible due to the time involved.

PAS will clear you from the point of view of meeting the qualifying standard for the grade, checking references, etc. Once assigned to a department/agency, there are various HR processes that take place there before you join. If security clearance is a part of this, you remain under consideration until the department/agency's HR are satisfied that you are suitable for the role.

Ah! I thought AGS was the Attorney General’s office.

    Hi :)

What is the usual timeframe between doing an interview and receiving your OOM position on the panel?

    thanks!
