But without its free market ideology it would be a dump.

Again, what? Once again, the majority of land and property is publically owned and almost a quarter of its gdp comes from publically owned enterprises!

They increased public spending by 12 billion since 2016.

Yup, but they are still economically conservative

Say wha? I've never heard these parties talking about communism, socialism yes, but communism, no. I wouldn't be overly concerned about them anyway, if they even manage to get into government, they'll have fcuk all power anyway

Are you sure you know what you're talking about

The political left fcuked itself up by getting into bed with all this free market nonsense, it's now completely fcuked, it abandoned it's base, it has no idea what it stands for, no idea what to do, it owes it's base an apology!

Which is why it was ripe for the take over by fringe regressive race baiters and oddballs.

FG are right wing. FF are chancers who lean where the money is.

I define right wing as lack of empathy bordering on disdain for the low income tax payer and crony behaviour erring on the side of business over the tax payer. FG have that in spades.

    FG arent right wing.

    Pro abortion

Our low income workers pay little tax because of the policies of FG and FF.

18000 euros a year in Ireland has an effective tax rate of 3%. In Germany in 26%.

Not necessarily true, and not truly possible in my opinion, and it's also kinna dump, but some public options would also be good, I do think we should encourage the growth of industries such as co-ops, and give them the same level of protectionism as industries such as mnc's etc, and of course other public services such as public banks

We had co ops. But the share holders sold out.

Yup, and they better start blowing out that deficit fairly quickly, or we re all truly fcuked, particularly the private sector

Yup I agree, we should encourage them again, but protectionism is critical, as it is with mnc's

His security are the Gardai, or should be. Here we have the deputy head of the state giving an interview in a public place, a person walks up to him from a distance, with something in her hand. There are approximately 14 seconds from the start of the video until the assault. She is walking directly and deliberately for him from second 1 to 14. Not one single person from the time the scumbag enters the film on the left until the assault occurs attempts to prevent the assault. Nobody at least on camera is attempting to prevent her escape.

If it was acid, if she had a knife ? Yep, I detest the guy as a politician but that’s bollocks.

Who makes the call on security for political people at this level. ? Gardai, politicians themselves ? Needs to be a situation where politicians have zero say unless it’s to increase their protection but they should be of no ability to decrease it.... they have been elected to do a job FOR the people of the country...they need to get with the program and provide themselves and in turn the people of this country with a safe environment in which to do this work.

She had a knife, Leo is dead... no debate about that...this fûcking jokeshop Garda mob and certainly Leo too need to up their game... the psychology of life at present means a danger to him and anybody holding that office is at its highest since the troubles....need to be careful.

He is not the Deputy Head Of State. Our President is Head Of State. There is no Deputy Head of State or Vice President. The Taoiseach is Prime Minister.
The Tanaiste who is Leo Varadkar at present is Deputy Prime Minister.

The left has largely ceded the working class to whomever.

Lot of that was down to snobbery, not wanting to listen to the proles disagreeing.

As the modern left becomes even more upper middle class, it views are diverging further from the working class.

I always voted left but that was when the left were able to relate to people and were against priests instead of being them.

Do you ever think there will be a time in Ireland when the woke/BLM/work shy hippies outnumber the people who prefer to work for what they have than look for everything for free? That would be my worst nightmare.

What's the woke? No, the majority of irish citizens are hard working folks, and thankfully only minorities are subjected to long term unemployment, and as always, the majority of citizens pay taxes, including the unemployed

Saoradh is a party, which may suit yous

If they can survive the unprecentened attack by the british security forces againest a political party.......pretty much impossible for left leaning parties to exist, when any startup is subject to relentless attack by liberials arresting its members

Its a disgrace, everyone turned a blindeye to what happened there imo

I have no problem with Saoradh.

When you flood the place with migrants wages go down.

Even the central bank admitted that.

Working class people suffer the most when migrants come in large numbers.

The worst part is how confident her walk is and how in the right she obviously thinks she was. Oh how it will all come tumbling down for her. No sympathies there, absolutely no justification for an assault like this

There is a job and education there for anyone in this country if they want it, unless they are unable to work through being disabled or mentally not able for it etc.
