Like Cate Blanchett; she's a fantastic actor, can be extremely funny and usually takes on interesting roles.

So what are either of them doing in Borderlands?

The whole movie seems so badly cast that I'm actually more interested in it now.

Spitball: they took the job to impress their kids or nieces / nephews. Knowing they like video games so thought it'd be fun to star in something they might be interested in. I remember it was Michel Caine who remarked a while back that he took a role in some random kids film cos he could take his grandkids to see it. Could be a similar vein of thinking.

That and money, and/or it's an easy, attractive shoot. Nothing has changed that much that actors don't pick roles for easy holiday options, or is money for old rope.

Is it live action or animated?

Live action unfortunately. Would be nice if they could do live action but give it a cell shaded look. Unfortunately, that won't stop any of the already cast characters ruining it just by looking nothing like the in game characters. Unlike the Witcher, we only have the games to go on, so I will most certainly get upset when they incorrectly cast someone instead of the exact person I had in mind or hadn't thought of yet.

Jamie Lee Curtis is into games though. Herself and her son were on game grumps about a year ago.

She knew a few bits that surprised me. Her son (adult) is a big gamer from the sounds of it.

Terraria dev announces they will no longer be porting the game to stadia after google banned their youtube account with all kinds of serious knock on effects without explanation.

    https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2021/02/terraria-developer-cancels-google-stadia-port-after-youtube-account-ban/

It's quite scary to see an example of how much damage google can do with zero recourse.

At least with that cast you can't accuse them of lacking ambition. Some badly cast A-listers is better than a badly cast B-lister surrounded by nobodies (aka the Resident Evil method of casting).

I mean, when you have a shallow world and aggressively unfunny writing as the source material, you need to throw whatever you can at the material to try to get it to stick (especially when there’s no loot grind to carry it).

You mean the post-credits scene isn't going to be Kevin Hart repeatedly solo-ing a raid boss for three hours using broken guns/skills before they inevitably get nerfed?

Well now there's no point seeing the movie at all...

Wow, more **** piled onto CDPR. The fact they know it's an actor means they know who it is i presume. Why Keanu, WHY!!!

It doesn't mean actor in the traditional sense.
A Cyber Threat Actor (CTA) is a participant (person or group) in an action or process that is characterized by malice or hostile action (intending harm) using computers, devices, systems, or networks.

I really hope the judge uses those words when he's sentencing this twat.

That's some logical leap there to think it was him :pac: Even if he was in Johnny Mnemonic.

I'm glad to see that even in 2020, I'm not so completely out of touch with gaming lexicon that "epically 'pwned" still isn't a phrase used. Weirdly, that gives me comfort lol

How is that terrible news? 2021 may not be much better so far but at least it has potential.

How does a play so totally backfire that CDPR come out as the babyfaces?

Didn't realise EA's mobile division was bigger than Glu!

Send documents to journalists? What are they going to do with them? If they're not used to catch the hacker, I'm pretty sure they'll be blacklisted by other companies as well

Journalists publish leaks if they're newsworthy. Imagine there was something there formally acknowledging just how bad the state of Cyberpunk was and saying to just release it. Or unannounced projects, staff cutbacks. Financial information. Its endless how sensitive any company documents could be.

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,036 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

There's a difference between leaks and a hacker attempting to holding a company to ransom. Any journalist publishing would be handling stolen property and aiding in a crime. At least that would be my understanding.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,157 ✭✭✭Markitron

I don't think it would really matter if a journalist publishes it or not, the info would be all over the internet in nanoseconds anyway.

Yea, there's a difference between reporting on the hacks and reporting what's in them of course. There's precedence on the latter, at least from the US-perspective, after the Sony hack in 2014. At the time, Sony demanded that media outlets stop publishing information which was contained within the hacked documents and while this was never tested in court, here's an opinion piece from a law professor at UCLA Law which casts doubt on whether they would have any standing.

I'd be quite surprised if CDP attempted to throw whatever weight they have around about this one, although there's always the risk that smaller publications may be wary of crossing them if they felt their future press access would be restricted.

Ubisoft announced the details of Anno 1800's third season pass.

Never managed to make it to the Investor tier so a lot of this stuff isnt really for my level. But the Docklands sounds kinda neat, being able to specialise your company and buy in bulk any missing necessities rather than having to plop out another schnaps factory everytime you try to expand a little.

I hate video game patents but seeing things this blatant makes you realise why they exist
