Have you seen Paul's rant about that judging is only on the current week and what happen previous weeks doesn't matter?

I don’t know about it being a rant.
He was defending someone being trolled and bullied online.

Yeah app Laura got a lot of abuse online last week when Hermine didn’t get through
I’d say a lot of uninformed comments about how the judging worked so he stepped in

Poor Laura! I hope she's gonna fail spectacularly tonight! I don't hate her but her work ethics are triggering my OCD.

I am new to Bake Off and this is only the second week I've watched but it's a very silly way of judging a contest especially a contest where the challenges don't necessarily get harder. I used to watch MasterChef and that was a show where they judged contestants on overall performance and kept people on based on the fact that the challenges and pressure would get much harder. I get Bake Off is a lot more light hearted and it's not going to change now but it's frustrating to watch. Last week or maybe the week before Laura said "They said it looked a mess but tasted great, I'm getting a bit tired of hearing that" and it felt to me that her exasperation was with the judges when it should it be with herself. Hermine was by far the worst baker last week but the fact that two star bakers counted for nought is incredibly frustrating because it just doesn't seem fair.

That's my tuppence and as I said I know it's not going to change.

My money is Dave. Fingers crossed.

I made this earlier, not a winner but is going down well regardless :D

Peter or Dave have to win

The families aren't very good at disguising the fact that they're reading autocues!!

Peter edging it for me - because he's young, he's really sweet, and he's a lefties!

Why have they got their love ones reading off autocue. Sounds so unnatural

Laura's custard looked like scrambled egg. Dave's like jelly gone wrong.

What is this person doing in the final?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,900 ✭✭✭appledrop

    Surprise, surprise Laura fails again.

Wtf were they thinking putting her in final.

Crap when only 2 real runners in final before it even starts!

    Oh mother of God

Worst thing I've ever seen in a final. A six year old would have made a better fist if it

Shot themselves in the foot, leaving her in until the final

Aw! The poor girl, I really feel for her, I'm hoping she still manages to pull it out of the bag. Call me an optimist...

You feel for someone the first time or 2nd time it happens but every week she f**ks it up so I've no patience left for her.

At end of day, Judge's to blame for not getting rid of her weeks ago.

It's actually a joke. Only it's not funny.

Ah look its not like this prize is worth thousands.its a cake stand.
If it were worth actual money id be more concerned with having her in it. Her flavours are always there She just misses something in execution. Shiit happens and she comes back every week trying

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,900 ✭✭✭appledrop

I hope Paul & Prue take a good look at their judging after this fiasco.

Its the final of bake off + Laura's baking is yet again a disgrace.

They should be ashamed of themselves for putting her in the final.

We lost a great baker last werk who had a real chance of winning tonight.

Have to agree . Hermine had a great chance .

So, there was nothing right about Laura's signature bake - which they could practice in advance.

    Right.

But they tasted good? I don't believe you, Prue!
