That's right. The cases previous to the last 14 days, would for the most part not be active. So the last 14 days is the critical numbers to follow

    Thanks.

So sad looking at my Facebook feed and all the Donegal establishments that were just opening back up this week. Stock once again ordered that’s no longer required. Restaurants and pubs that don’t have outside space. Friends who haven’t even had a fulls weeks work and they’re redundant again :(

A bit like most of your posts to be honest.

Stay in your county until further notice, don't meet your family in another county while being outdoors and distant.....Absolute pie in the sky

The family meets per se arent the issue with spread. Its the clowns that book hotels in groups of 40 so they can play a bit of golf. Its the family meets that have loads of attendees for a drunken bbq

This nonsense gets repeated with amusing regularity despite how many times it has been explained why it won't work here.

It won't work because Irish people are lazy spoiled brats who'd rather have the icus and mortuaries swamped than miss a few drinkies at the pub

It won't work because we share an island with a different country and have no land border.

Said country follows the direction of a government in London not Dublin thats why it won't work not because someone wants to go for a pint.

Anyone that is still using the 'pints' argument to dismiss others clearly is unable to articulate their position with valid points.
Pubs are open btw except Dublin ( I don't live in Dublin), off licenses never closed. Try harder.

Food pharmaceuticals electronics services, light engineering works. A covid free island with no interruptions in production due to lockdown is a big boon. We dont see it here yet, but food prices due to covid interruptions in supply are rising in poorere countries. I could see the toyoto plant in Belgium being moved here for example if we get this right

We didnt even try. With the way the Uk government have treatrd the unionist when they no longer needed their support there is every chance of making a deal re public health with NI

Yes a plant on mainland Europe is going to relocate to an island on the Western fringe of Europe that will be facing significant transport issues due to the 'landbridge' that we rely on becoming the biggest truck part in Europe in a few months.

Were people from Lifford socialising across the border in Strabane? The lockdown of the pubs here likely caused it.
Yes. Lifford and Strabane are practically the one town. They run in to each other across a bridge. If you drive through, you would not think of them as two separate towns but just notice that you had crossed a bridge.
