Yep. NYT might take one for the team yet :)

Anyone seeking info on Clinton Foundation, I refer you to Mr. Google. He is your friend, even with all the search manipulation admitted to ;)

This state, by the way, has handed over several hundred million of our money to the Clinton Foundation.

    I wonder why?

So , nothing new then , no big recent story as you claimed?

All I can find is the fact that the Durham investigation are trolling around trying to find something , anything to justify their existence having clearly found a dry well in their original investigation.

Is that really what you are talking about?

Yeah, if only they ran a nice clean charity like the Trumps.....oh.... wait.

Exactly. So what are we talking about here?! Irish people fighting with each other over Trump v CNN, etc.

Bill has been in politics all his life. His highly blemished record speaks for itself. Hilary did her stint in a separate administration and used that as a step into the White House as president herself.

Dynasties are a weird thing. Bush family, same thing. They can’t all be ‘presidential’ material in one family.

Some very powerful people wanted her in the White House last time. It wasn’t for her altruism or ticket to clean up US politics.

Trump's tax info is not "out." It is under audit by IRS.

Real story about corruption in last few days relates to the Clinton Foundation. Hence the rush to break this story which they were hoping to keep for later in campaign.

BTW, it seems to have been a bit of a damp squib. RTE probably one of few major broadcasters other than CNN and ilk trying to big it up.

Tomorrow we see the first evisceration of Dopey Joe. Should be fun.

    From January this year.

DOJ inquiry tied to Clinton, touted by Trump winds down with no tangible results: report

A Department of Justice inquiry into Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation has effectively concluded without producing tangible results, The Washington Post reported Thursday.

The investigation has not formally ended and no official notice has been sent to the Justice Department or lawmakers, but the the U.S. attorney tapped in November 2017 to look into the concerns raised by President Trump and allies has largely finished his investigation, according to current and former law enforcement officials that spoke to the Post.

B I'm often amazed at Trump supporters and their lack of introspection but your post is a winner in that regard.

Here you give advice to people wondering about the Clinton foundation:
Anyone seeking info on Clinton Foundation, I refer you to Mr. Google.

Then you ask a question about the Clinton foundation:
This state, by the way, has handed over several hundred million of our money to the Clinton Foundation. I wonder why?

So why not follow your advice and look it up.

That's how American politics works , especially since Citizens United.

No one gets into a key position of power without the backing of major figures in the background.

Whether that's the like of the Koch Foundation or someone like Sheldon Adelson on the GOP side or a Bloomberg or Tom Steyer on the Dem side.

And until they overturn Citizens United (which will never happen with SCOTUS as it is) and only allow the Federal funding of Elections it will always be that way.

According to the article in NY Times the filed were sourced from someone who legally had access to them, I'm not sure if that also means they could legally leak them though.

There are a few potential sources.
    • Someone in the IRS - That would definitely be illegal if they leaked it.
    • Someone from his Accounting firm - Possibly not "felony" illegal , but certainly would be exposed to being sued for "breach of privacy" or the like.
    • Someone from one of his lenders (Deutsche perhaps) - Again , probably like the accounting firm in terms of legal exposure.

Trump and his supporters have a problem here. It's either real leaked information with question marks over how it was obtained or it's fake.

This is Outlaw Pete you're talking to. He thinks Trump adding $7 trillion to the national debt is doing his best for America.
    [backslap seeking ad hominem snipped]

I've never mentioned the US national debt with regards to Trump on Boards, so not sure what you're referring to. However, Coronavirus spending (vaccine research, aid for hospitals, economic relief for businesses, households etc) costs money and with a tax revenue decline, a shrinking economy coupled with a debt swell is inevitable. It sure isn't what you're suggesting it is, which is some black mark on his economic nous, but I understand the clammering to paint it as such.

In terms of the NYT choosing to publish, that's entirely legal. Sources breaking laws to get the information is far from new.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,527 ✭✭✭tobefrank321

And all this time I thought the key to success was making a profit.

The US tax system appears to reward failure and penalize success.

Well Trump has certainly helped add to that over the last decade or so.

    Funny that.

Why then was it illegal for Wikileaks to leak their information?

But the Clinton Foundation :pac: :pac:

It's a bold strategy Cotton, let's see if it pays off for 'em

Nah man, it's just an accounting game. Same here in Ireland. Moving numbers around the page so that it appears that you aren't making money therefore reducing your tax liability. All totally legal. Most businesses overplay (legally) their expenses and losses (if any) to make it look like they are barely breaking even thereby reducing their tax liability.

The argument around that was related to classified US government information so they claimed it under espionage. US law around government whistleblowing is crap. Also wikileaks don't report on information, they post it in bulk.

The Trump Organization employs tens of thousands of people in the US.

    Go again.

What concerns me is why so many people will still vote for such an out-and-out bluffer and idiot.

    There are two reasons probably.

    1. Tired of the system and don't care, just want change.
    2. Because the alternative isn't that sh1t hot either.

Both Trump and Biden are crap candidates. Like the episode of Southpark, it's a choice between a giant douche and a turd sandwich.

Not entirely legal, at least not some of what has been alleged like some of the stuff with Ivanka. What is not mentioned is an audit of Ivanka and the rest of the family and co-horts. I'm guessing the Attorney General in New York has done that and is sitting on it.

Did any of the money that went out, come back to him?...probably one way or another. They are saying Ivanka getting money whilst holding her current role in his administration alone is already illegal.

Of course, it all amounts to nothing if he get re-elected. If they go after him too soon, he'll get pardoned. I'm sure they'll hold it and then try to get federal and state charges after the election.

None of those groups are labeled as terrorists, except by the orange con man because, agenda. You can't just label a group as anything you want because you don't agree with them. And who are the "Communists" anyway.
Antifa have been deemed a Terrorist Group and they sure are Communists.

By BLM own founders words they are Communists and they certainly are Terrorising in America.

Always some Communists knocking about wasting their time and everybody else ! !
