Extending EIR Ducting

Hi Guys;

Looking to get EIR installed for a recent new build.

The builder ran a 38mm Black ESB Duct from the ETU to the top of the driveway (40m).

I want to extend this duct to the other side of my garden (45m) away to keep the Eir pole away from the front of my driveway.

When I look on the Eir website they dont give any specific details / requirements on the actual acces box ie type, dimensions etc.


What I am thinking of doing is installing a Access Junction box in the ground complete with riser and covers. Both ducts will be brought to this point as a point of access.

I am going to use ESB 2 inch duct to extend the duct to the new location.


My quetions is will Eir installation techs have any issue with the use of AJ's for accessing the ducts.

Does anyone know if there is specific requirements for an access box I have not been able to find anything

Its very hard to get any advice from EIR whatsoever in my experience. Ive tried numerous times and one of them even hung up on me at one point. Impossible to deal with.

I got the best advice from my electrician from his previous experience.

Thanks for reply Muddle that was the same PDF I was looking at whie it does give some decent information on the duct requirements and access box locations it doesnt really define the Access Box as such.


I too have rang EIR and had the same frustrations, I suppose I am hoping for an EIR Tech or KN Group Installer to stumble across this thread and comment on suitability.
