    Work ID was refused.

    Not sure if he or for that matter anyone carries their birth cert around.:D

    No - but one digs it out of the sock drawer and dusts it off every decade or so when it is needed - like now.

    He has a bank account but he's of the vintage where such a thing wasn't needed then.

    This whole business raises an important issue of ID whereby, for some people who don't drive, travel abroad or have a public service need there is no real option to establish identity.

    But a PSC doesn't cost anything other than time ( CoVid restrictions excepted ) so no real excuse if they need an ID

    If it's crossed it needs to be paid into a bank account, if it's not crossed AFAIK you could give him the money and lodge it to your account.
