Chris Christie, who is suffering from coronavirus, has been hospitalized as a 'precautionary measure'
He has to be at really serious risk..
Not sure what age he is but his BMI must be sky high

First of all, you're presuming that masks are the reason the POTUS contracted the virus but that is pure conjecture. As I highlighted in my post, some politicians have contracted it where there was a State wide mask order in place.

Also, it wasn't just Trump advising people to wear masks, it was the administration also, but you (and the rest of the world) wouldn't know that as the mainstream media rarely relayed their advice to the public given they were much too busy telling their viewers that Trump had said George Floyd's would be happy with job numbers and that if they have Covid they should inject bleach. Unsurprising then that most people haven't a bull's notion what the advice actually was that was coming from the White House with regards to masks or how much the administration had done to ensure masks were available to the public.

Here's a selection of the kind of stuff I'm referring to:

Let's take just one of those tweets maybe, the masks one say.
April...was a bit late in the day for that...but even more damning is that fact that.

One of those companies never produced the last order.
One company filed for bankruptcy and has no employees
One is a ghost company created by Jared kushner

Amazing....what a huge help...such leadership...Trump the art of the deal what a businessman

Trump is an old obese man, who apparently never exercises. The guy is in serious trouble from Covid. If he does survive, I doubt he will be a 100% for a long time if at all.

There is a possibility that he lives, and suffers from long covid, which would mean he is unfit to be President on health grounds.

There is so much that can go wrong for Trump with this illness, even if he lives.

Look at Boris Johnson, who was much younger and it nearly killed him, and apparently he is not altogether well even now.

People over 70 years of age who contract covid have a 95% recivery rate.
If you were a betting man, would you really lay any money that he'll die. He'd want to be very very very unlucky man to be in that 5%. Add to that that he will be getting much better attention and care for whatever it is worth, than the 5% who die.

Trump is going nowhere, he'll be back in a couple of weeks just like Boris and nearly everyone else who contracts covid under the age of 80.

Start adding in heart conditions, level of overweight and diet. That 5% increases very quickly.

I'd say close to 20%, but then he has best possible medical care (not available to most Americans) which will bring that figure down..

So most likely he will get through it, but how long for recovery?

It's quite clear they don't take it serious when they're all gathered at the white house last week for Barrett's nomination, none of them wearing masks or socially distancing and now to no one's surprise they're reaping the benefits

It's interesting though that since Hicks and subsequently Trump et all tested positive for covid you've been banging on about Charlottsville, Donny doing spazzy impersonations of people he doesn't like, banning travel from China in March etc not once have you actually commented on the circumstances of the past week that have lead to them contracting coronavirus

I guess all we can do is conjecture whether mask wearing or not is why Trump caught COVID, but it's not conjecture as to whether the scenes pictured here are a perfect breeding ground for this virus

Astonishing how deluded many on here continue to be regarding the lethality of the virus. A seventy four year old man with a bit of weight on him has every chance of suffering little more than mild flu symptoms.

I hate to tell you this man, but Trump is clearly overweight, famously lazy, lives off junk food and take away and hasn't done a day manual labour in his life.

So unless you have a very different definition of masculine, he's not your guy.

I wouldnt mind but he seems to live off re-heated Big Macs and cheeseburgers. Everyone knows that you never re-heat anything from McDonalds, it is absolute rank went re-heated
JAN: Trump initiated a travel ban on China at the end of January when the left were all focused on impeachment and saying it was racist to be trying to mitigate the spread of the virus and there were too many white people on the Coronavirus taskforce.

I see you are still pushing Trumps lies on his travel ban despite you been shown evidence earlier that there never was a travel ban from Chyna. You know just because Trump calls it a 'travel ban' doesnt mean that you have to actually fall for his lies hook, line and sinker

40,000 travellers enter America direct from China after Trump called a travel ban from China

Then there is this, all of which happened under Trumps imaginary 'travel ban' that he issued on Jan 31st
About 60 percent of travelers on direct flights from China in February were not American citizens, according to the most recently available government data. Most of the flights were operated by Chinese airlines after American carriers halted theirs.
So not only did Trump allow 40,000 people enter America direct from China after he had commenced his imaginary travel ban around 24,000 of those people were not even American citizens. Maybe Trump should have told the virus to leave them alone because its pretty clear his 'travel ban' was a complete work of fiction and just yet another lie that his supporters have fallen for and now use to parrot Trumps fake news.

What's the survival rate of those who contract it and are hospitalised because of it? Surely he's very unlucky to be in that group already?

Be interesting to see if Amy Coney Barrett tests positive or gets ill after having covid a few months ago.

If trust him as he's a doctor but the report he quoted from the CDC is widely available.

Summary of it reported below with the CDC table.and link included.

TBF it's ultimately from the CDC (unless the tweet is blatantly lying)

The bit about Trump being 20-49 is absolute skull rot though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,561 ✭✭✭Quantum Erasure

I would put POTUS in the 20-49 category due to his strength and stamina.

    Retweet if you agree.

Anything that the trump name is associated with is a flop. Hopefully covid rebranded as TrumpCovid is the same.

He's a urologist and has never medically examined Trump so mad that he'd be classifying an overweight 74 year old as that. Second, he's medically questionable.

I'd agree with you on that. No way he gets a pass to a lower fatality rate based on his lifestyle status.
Still though, I'd be fairly sure he'll be fine and this is just more box office associated with the man

Nobody asked him to stay locked up in his house?

Wear a mask, socially distance and wash your hands.

Why does he still struggle with this stuff in October?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,278 ✭✭✭Dwarf.Shortage

Ah f**k he genuinely is fine

He looks good to me. Statistically he's looking as you'd expect. He'll be shook but he'll be fine. Attention should be turning now to how to perform post covid.

Definitely recorded yesterday when he got to the hospital.

There's a serious bang of finality about it.

I'd say it's a certainty that he tested positive given the amount of people linked to the outbreak but he and his campaign team are playing a blinder in exploiting the whole situation.

Wall to wall Trump coverage for a week with Biden not getting a look in. Public feeling sympathetic for him. No longer a need to participate in debates. Plenty of talk about him being a 'fighter' and being able to come through Covid. Trump talking about how the treatment he got access to shows us that a 'vaccine' is a matter of weeks away for the whole country.

He's selling a message of hope and the American public are about to swallow it up. Genius really.

The fact that Mark Meadows was briefing ferociously today that Trump was basically on his deathbed makes me have no doubt that political campaigning is front and centre in all of this.
