Well, apparently the White House deemed him fit to travel as he didn't have direct contact with Hicks. You can't expect the POTUS to stop all engagements just because someone in the White House contracts the virus.

And, really - he contracted it. Had he been wearing a mask, had *Hope Hicks* been wearing a mask regularly, think of all the good that they could have done over the last few days instead of the turmoil they've caused.

Useless? Oh, I see your reasoning: Trump in a closed setting with a mask, meant the SecService agents absolutely would get the disease because the mask doesn't work 100%. Is that it?

Versus the obvious logic that 'exposing someone to Covid that doesn't NEED to be exposed is worse than not exposing them, by not having a parade, for example.'

You do know how Covid is supposed to spread, right? And that masks don't protect 100%? But they do reduce the chance of both getting the disease (some 30%) and spreading the disease (some 90%)

If people were making the claim that masks are 100% effective and then saying that the Trump hotbox was dangerous, that would be a silly.


Nobody's claiming that they're 100% effective. That's all in your head. Masks help a lot and combined with other sensible practices, greatly reduce the risk of catching and spreading it. This isn't complicated and you keep getting this confused. It's perfectly possible to say that masks are effective while hotboxing in a car and wearing masks is silly.

His base would vote for him even if he gave them Covid. They'd probably see it as some sort of anointment.

It's the rest of America he needs to win around and going by the polls, it's really not looking good for him. I would like to think that most of them can see through his 'illness' stunt narrative for what it is and vote accordingly.
