So if Biden is right wing why is no mainstream media describing him as the right wing candidate?

So if Biden is right wing why is no mainstream media describing him as the right wing candidate?

because they are both right wing. It is redundant

So then it really doesn't make a difference which one of them gets in? Why all the fuss about it then?

Srsly? #IMPOTUS said we're getting your husbands back to work? Tuesday's going to be a formality at this point. Might reach Reagan/Mondale era landslide for Biden.

It won't come close to reagan/Mondale or bush/dukakis to be honest - there are at least 12-15 states that would literally vote for anything with the letter R at the end over the letter D. That's literally all that matters to the majority of voters in some of these states, moreso than their own livelihoods.

You really need to stop thinking in binary left/right terms. The complexities of human political interaction are far more interesting and nuanced than that. I know Americans who would hold very conservative views, right wing some would say, but they spit every time Trump is mentioned as he has come to be seen as America's disgrace.

Yet here, and all over social media, simply because they hold Trump in contempt and consequently will vote Biden; these same people will be derided as lefties, or liberals or SJWs or whatever simplistic nonsensical insult you're having yourself. You're being had.

Remember last week when "Honest John" Ratcliffe stood in front of the FBI Director and other Intelligence Community types and spoke about how the Iranians were interfering in the Election to damage Donald Trump" ?

Well , in news that will be surprising to very few people , that's not exactly the truth.

Ratcliffe , Wray and others approved the statement that he was to deliver , but he decided to ad-lib to help his Boss.

He added the phrase "to damage President Trump" all on his own.

The Iranians are messing about in election mis-information , but they aren't targeting Trump at all , they were in fact targeting Democratic party voters.
Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe delivered strange public remarks last week, alerting the public to alleged Iranian antics, targeting Democratic voters in multiple states. The DNI, however, said Tehran's tactics were intended to "damage President Trump," which didn't seem to make any sense.

And now we know why. Politico reported late yesterday that Ratcliffe "went off script" during his remarks.

The reference to Trump was not in Ratcliffe's prepared remarks about the foreign election interference, as shown to and signed off by FBI Director Chris Wray and senior DHS official Chris Krebs, the director of the department's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency. Wray and Krebs stood behind Ratcliffe as he addressed the public, supportive of the general intention to alert voters to a malicious influence operation. But they were surprised by Ractliffe's political aside, which had not appeared in the prepared text, the officials said.

Or put another way, if the reporting is correct, the director of National Intelligence, while reading from prepared text, warning the public about a voter-intimidation scheme, decided to just ad-lib a line -- which happened to be designed to benefit the president during his re-election campaign.

So - Yet again , Ratcliffe shows his utter unsuitability for the job he got for being Trumps "Bestest Boy in Congress" and lies to help his boss.

I tend to agree with what you are saying. I think we can agree the term "far right" is equally redundant. People like Dave Rubin on Youtube or Candace Owens being described as "far right" or "white supremacist" is unbelievably silly and devalues the term.

Because Trump is an incompetent narcissist that is happy to abuse his role. He has constantly aimed to be divisive and when faced with a serious crisis, he's been a disaster. A thousand dying a day for months meanwhile he attacks the experts who he ignores the advice of.

Indeed , there is no "left" in the US as we would understand it in Ireland or Europe.

Whilst he is to the left of what Trump claims to be , Biden is at best Centre Right in global terms.

Trump isn't "right wing" per-se - He's certainly not a conservative in the sense of what that has meant in the context of US politics.

Trump says and does whatever he thinks will do him the most good - Right now that is aping the worst extremes of far-right nativist tropes , but if Trump genuinely felt that he'd get more traction with going full "Radical Socialist" he would do so in a heart-beat.

As long as he retained his power and his money he couldn't care less.

Texas just surpassed 95% of its 2016 total votes cast w/ two days of early voting & Election Day left to go. We're just headed for a massive, unprecedented turnout there (and a lot of other places).

    Wonder will it go blue?

Early voting tends to be mostly dems. Republicans much more likely to leave it until the day.

So, yes, dems will be delighted in Texas.

I still expect Trump to narrowly win the state though.

However, the fact it's a battle shows he is in big trouble. Texas should be a sure thing for republicans.

Anyways so it's not going to happen. If somebody offered me 20/1 on Trump I wouldn't take it.
Bookies won't even offer you 2/1 on Trump, so not sure why anyone would offer you 20/1!

But bookies will offer you 1/2 on Biden. You must be all over that if you think 1/20 is more representative.

    Depends on what you mean..

I really don't see it going for Biden , although it is WAY closer than it should be for the GOP.

However , there's a decent chance that the State level could go Blue either House or Senate - More likely in the House.

Which could absolutely have implications for the next Elections including Governor in 2022.

    They are both right wing.
Bernie Sanders is the most prominent socialist candidate in the US. He fought Biden for the nomination but didn't get it, even he's not left wing though.

Ermm... as a US citizen and long time US voter & politics watcher:

Trump: Right wing, pro business, anti-woman, pro-pollution. The racism and misogyny are Trump's personal characteristics, not a right- or left-wing thing.

    Biden: Moderate - moderately pro-business. Moderately pro-environment. Moderately pro-woman

Both are far to the right of the moderates here in Ireland and WAY to the right of 'left wing' in Ireland.

As for the Democratic Socialists like AOC in the US, she's 'left wing' for the US, but would be a moderate here.

Incompetent narcissist is a fair critique. Calling him a white supremacist racist is ridiculous.

Yeah, I am amazed that there’s even a chance it will vote Democrat. Texas is normally a surefire Republican state. I think it will go Republican but it’s mad that people are even suggesting it might go Democrat.

Yeah its true - I don't believe he cares enough about their beliefs to label himself as one - he only appears to support them in order to get their vote.

either incredibly naive or something else. Not really sure which.

yes he is a racist, but specifically a white supremacist? - I don't think so - he just needs their support.

    But who really knows..
