I think it's just an attempt at recognising the reasons why people fled their ancestral home, and came to America for greater freedoms.
Need to take a step back here.

The *Presidential election* is what we're talking about. States get to choose 2 Senators, and some number of Representatives, based on popular voting within the state. Bigger, more populous states, get more Representatives is all.
These Representatives and Senators introduce, vote on and create the laws that govern behaviors in the States, within the bounds set by the Constitution.

Election of the President is what the EC college is about, and was designed in a way to ensure States get some kind of "reasonable" contribution of votes to that decision. That's it. As the President doesn't *create* law, he/she signs off on it, it has very little to do with 'greater freedoms.' It was a way for the Founders to ensure signoff on the constitution by the less populous states, and usually those that were Slave states objected to anything that would disenfranchise them, including population as the only way to elect the President. They've historically been lower population especially in the early days of the US.

If you moved to rural montana or alaska for greater freedom, but are still having no say in how you're governed because big cities/regions have all the voting power... that's not really what you bought into.
Their 'say' is based on their Representatives and Senators. FFS the President doesn't control how they're governed.

And of course, Montana and Alaska and other small, rural states didn't join the Union till centuries after it formed. A better example for the day would be the Carolinas or Georgia which were original 13 and very rural. Massachusetts, NY, Virginia were the big ones.

What's the difference between London ruling your life, or New York ruling your life...?

You can have sparsely populated states, which have a very different culture to that of the big cities. But the electoral college ensures that these smaller states have a little bit of power, so they can not be easily overrun by the superior numbers of the cities or bigger states... but yet it still recognises that the big city/state should have more power based on it's size.

It has more power, but not all the power.
We're talking ONLY about choosing the President here. Nothing else. Nothing related to law. The Presidents primary job, actually, is to be the negotiation contact for foreign powers, the Founders knew how important that was and to have just 1 contact.

So your rural state doesn't necessarily have to change it's culture or way of life, to be more in line with that of the more densely populated regions.

So I think it does a pretty good job of promoting and protecting diversity of lifestyles throughout the whole nation.

    Not even slightly.

    It's as reputable as CNN.

Nope, The New York Post is known for sensationalism and their key email was published as a screenshot. So they basically made it impossible to verify as a result. Meanwhile the author is heavily associated with Roger Stone, Hannity and Steve Bannon. Can you point to a major news story that they've broken in the realm of investigative journalism? There's a reason it was leaked to them and it wasn't journalistic integrity.

Overall, we rate CNN left biased based on editorial positions that consistently favors the left, while straight news reporting falls left-center through bias by omission. We also rate them Mixed for factual reporting due to several failed fact checks by TV hosts. However, news reporting on the website tends to be properly sourced with minimal failed fact checks

Overall we rate the New York Post on the far end of Right-Center Biased due to story selection that typically favors the Right and Mixed (borderline questionable) for factual reporting based on several failed fact checks.

    Seem fairly equivalent to me.

You omitted the final paragraph which shows they're not very comparable.

    Both rated mixed.

I posted the entire summary in both cases, look again.

Corrupt crackie Hunter should have hidden his camera from the hookers while he was passed out. Rookie move

This story won't make a whit of difference to the vote. If people are that put off by alleged nepotism, voting for Trump surely isn't the better option, where half his family are working in his White House without a scrap of political experience between them. It's farcical.

His issues with substance abuse are well documented. Joe Biden admitted to such at the last debate trump could be arsed to turn up to.

He should be commended for overcoming his addiction, something many people in the U.S are struggling with right now.

    Correction.

Twitter (and Facebook) are preventing the spread of what appears to be fake news.

Theres more holes in the plot than in a d List movie.

Using this post from another thread to illustrate the point.

Trump supporters have been dismissing anything they dislike or disagree with as fake news or MSM for years. Why would anyone take them seriously now?

My heart bleeds for the multi millionaire. If similar videos came out of Don Jr or Eric Trump having wild crack hooker orgies do you think you'd be so apologetic.

wouldn’t you also not care just as you have now because they’re also multi millionaires?

Haven't they both been banned from running charities because they extorted millions from a kids cancer charity? Seems worse than a drug addiction to me.

Being a victim of drug addiction is one thing, but using that addiction as an excuse to exploit women is not. Wouldn't you agree?

What you're asking doesn't make any sense. If videos of Trump Jr hosting a crack orgy were posted online I wouldn't be making up excuses for him.

And we know this is Hunter Biden how? Remember Project Veritas? Faking things is a long GOP tradition?
So, in your view, what are expert moves for 'crackies' (nice term.)

Pretty pathetic of you reposting that link to some poor soul's addiction problem. As your other posts show, you're massively envious of his money. How sad for you.

What doesn’t make sense is dismissing someone’s drug addiction because of their net worth.

As if they or their father would ever hold their hands up and admit to any wrongdoing, lol. Have they apologised for their disgusting trophy hunting trips or defrauding cancer charities yet?

By the by, Hunter Biden isn't up for election, his dad is. Trump had to pay off a porn star he slept with while his wife was at home with a newborn. His cheerleaders don't seem to have a problem with that and he's the actual President!

The moral outrage at these pictures of Hunter Biden from Trump supporters of all people are laughable.

Not to mention the prevalence these days for deep fakes.

The worst are the sheep reveling in someone's suffering, whether it's actually Hunter Biden or Joe Bloggs from down the street. Typical 'family values/pro life' GOP wingnut behavior. It's all about the hate with them, they're addicted to it and Trump's the pusher.

I sympathise with anyone who suffers from substance abuse issues tbh. And this one is far from a secret. So producing photos of him conked from God knows when is a tad sleazy and nasty.

I couldn't care less about his wealth beyond the Bidens being a corrupt political family, I posted the image for shock value because it disgusts me to see so many posts in favour of censorship purely for political reasons.
