With Thomas out now... who are the favourites? Nibali?

Yates, probably the best GC TT'er left.

    Edit: Hah, maybe not!

The other GC contenders should increase the pace in the peloton in order to drive the final nail into Thomas' coffin. But they don't seem to be doing so

    Yates is cooked !

    Yates... WTF?!?!?!

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,113 ✭✭✭mr spuckler

Yates struggling! Unless he manages to recover that's even worse after all the work MS have done today.

the next few weeks commentary suddenly seems a lot easier to listen to

Favourites for the stage from the OP!

    Simon Yates 5/2
    Jakob Fuglsang 5/1
    Joao Almeida 15/2
    Geraint Thomas 10/1
    Thomas de Gendt 14/1
    Diego Ulissi 16/1

May be updated as they're saying Almeida is at the back of the lead group...

Didn't see the Yates collapse coming!

Is Ulissi still in main group I wonder

Smith saying McNulty won here last year, Guillaume Martin might have something to say about that and Masnada was second that day.

Not according to the Giro website.

One things for sure, the group will have no fear of Keldermann attacking here

    EDIT: Well I never!!!!! I'm stunned :D

This stage is bonkers, don't think I've seen the likes of this so early in a GT before.

Delighted to see Pozzovivo still up here. He's had it rough in recent times.

Kruijswijk looked in trouble there! This Nibali group looks like the group we'll be watching battle it out for the overall...

edit...and Kruijswijk gone again as is Majka, this is brutal today.

Commentary seem to have forgotten Keldermann up the road or was he taken back?

Caicedo is up with Voeckler and Virenque for ugly riding style.

    Works, though.

Incredible stage. Honestly thought the Giro was between Thomas and Yates and they’re both gone already

Did Yates have to weld his bike along the way, Christophe-styleee? Those glasses are horrific.

The Scott glasses the last few years have been desperate looking yokes, up there in fuglyness with the POC glasses

Only caught the last half hour but what a stage. Completely ripped everything to shreds.

He said McNulty won the stage up there in the Tour of Sicily iirc.

Great fightback from Kruijswick. I think between him and Fuglsang for GC now, after thinking Thomas was nailed on!

Yeah that's the one I was talking about, McNulty was 4th that day :D

Kelderman favourite now, I guess? Would like to see Pozzovivo make the podium.

Geraint Thomas and crashes are synonymous now at this stage.
