  • Registered Users Posts: 32,956 ✭✭✭✭Omackeral

Hook Lighthouse advances and will represent Wexford

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,784 ✭✭✭KathleenGrant

    Oh no
Choose between Hook Lighthouse or Curracloe Beach.
Ok Hook oldest working lighthouse swings it but love Curracloe so much.

    Glendalough
A place of peace and beauty and a wonderful feeling there.

I think Glendalough has to win here. Two lakes for the price of one, plus the Monastic Village. The Spinc walk is one of my favourite local walks too

    Glenroe Farm??? :confused::confused: WTF??

Glendalough, hands down from that lot. Fabulous (although another place that I really need to get to know better).

    Glendalough National Park
Has to be, doesn't it? Yes it's too crowded and there are nicer places around if you know where to go but it's so iconic and a great spot for a hike

Glendalough ; some great spots in Wicklow, but hard to deny this is the most superior

I mean, it was on TV every Sunday night (nine months of the year) for over twenty years, and thousands still make the pilgrimage to see it every year.

The maze. Mazes are great fun

And it has a maze and the biggest sandpit I've ever seen. It's a cracking place for kids. Not worthy of a vote here, but still a great place :)

I think 3 of these are mine :)

So a doubly tough choice. But Lough Ouler - the heart-shaped Lough - was a surprise for me when I discovered it. Another beautiful lake setting. And the mountain - Tonlagee - translates as "Arse to the wind". What's not to like?!

It's also a short walk to Glenmacnass, which is another beautiful view actually

    Victor's Way
It's like nothing else in Ireland, probably the world!
It's terrifying, really weird but an amazing place, everyone should go once

    Here's another picture...

    Victors way
For the pure randomness of it all

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,372 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

I had to google Victor's Way, and I'm tempted to vote for it for its sheer bonkersness!

But Powerscourt has to get my vote here - childhood memories of day trips to the waterfall, and only in recent years did I get around to visiting the gardens and despite it being wintertime I was blown away by them. And just the setting of the whole place is amazing.
