Cloughoughter Castle castle on a lake - looks special. Been to the cliffs at least twice - they're not calling me back.

    Cloughoughter Castle
Lakes are cool, especially when they have islands in them

Castles are cool, especially when they're on an island

I've been living in Ireland for six years and made a real effort to travel around and see loads. The Cliffs of Moher were the most underwhelming and disappointing place I've been to. I think they're so famous I expected much more.

Cloughoughter Castle ; because there isn't busloads of racous yanks trekking out to see it several times a day

Cliffs of Moher are impressive no doubt. But also there are loads of cliffs.

The Castle in Cavan is rather unique imo and for that reason gets my vote.

Cloughoughter Castle, although I'm not familiar with it it looks very interesting and the cliffs are even more overrated than the giants causeway, and that's saying something.

Cliffs of Moher have always looked impressive to me

I'll have to go for the castle.

Cloughoughter Castle because the cliffs are kinda boring unless you're looking at them from the sea. And over run with FTs

Cliffs of mother because they are much more of a landmark in my eyes.

Will go with the cliffs . Always been terrified by them

Cosmo said it earlier and I agreed, Cliffs of Moher are overrated, some much better cliffs in Mayo and Donegal IMO

Never heard of it but Cloughoughter Castle looks very cool and gets my vote

Surely this logic should extend to the fact that the castle is probably not in the top five castles in Ireland either?

Cliffs of Moher by a mile

Good point but it’s definitely in the top five castles on an island

Edit: I did the cliff walk in Kilkee this summer and thought it was amazing

I still maintain that the horseshoe valley is in no way the best landmark in Sligo, but it gets my vote over the tinnies all the same.

Benbulben all day long for me, stunning and iconic

Cliffs of Moher are best seen from the sea.

Definitely the most egregious decision so far.

Cliffs for me. May not the most impressive but certainly one one of the most iconic landmarks of Ireland.

cliffs of mother, all cliffs are better seen from the sea. These are one of the most iconic Irish landmarks, known on view by most I would guess.

Wicklow might have something to say about that :)

Never been to the Cliffs of Moher, but have heard good and bad things about them. Not even Ireland's highest cliffs I think. So I'm torn here. They are an iconic landmark though, so much and all as I like the castle, I'll vote for the Cliffe here.

    Cloughoughter castle
Castle in a lake what tops it?

Am late again, still happy. Little inappropriate dance to celebrate.

Must check these out sometime. Might get my mam to bring me :pac::pac:

All joking aside, that's another massive scalp gone, along with the Giant's Causeway. The Cliffs got two votes one minute after the expiry time, certainly would've made it more interesting. It's certainly not a dead cert as to what will win!

True enough. It was a stupid statement.

I love that people are voting on what they see though, not on name or reputation. Neither location lives up to expectations in reality, despite the numbers or tourists they both draw in.

If anything, big reputations are harming a places chances. It is ready very interesting :)

    Derry
    Derry City Walls

By miles. Its great how well preserved they are, really adds a certain ambience to the whole place

The church is grand and all, but no match here

Derry City Walls ; by a country mile. City walls are class, if people are gonna vote for a tin church over that, they'd want their heads check.
