I'm not a big fan of Newgrange but this isn't a contest. The referee shouldn't have even let this one start it's so mismatched!

New grange, one of Ireland's most iconic landmarks, I would love to visit it some day

Yes, I think it has to be Newgrange here.

Newgrange, because I've been there and inside on the winter solstice, and while it was a bit underwhelming it was still kinda magic!

    Newgrange also

    Newgrange

Very thought provoking site. Great place to get a guided tour of.
    Good visitor centre nearby.
The whole area may have more to be discovered too....

Newgrange ; I find places like Newgrange absolutely fascinating, so no contest here for me

I'm pleased Kylemore won through now. Electric's council estate pic took the guilt off the castle somewhat.

    Newgrange advances to Round 2

That concludes Round 1. We are now down to the Sweet 16 of the tournament but that will have to wait for tomorrow. Some big hitters fell, some beauties left and the Random Number Generator has already done its thing and has the next stage ready to go. Do join us again as we strive to find Ireland's Ultimate Landmark.

Round 2 begins today and we will kick off with the Best of the West as we have ourselves a Connaught Clash. All Round 2 matches will have a time limit of 30 minutes and, as before, any tie-breakers will be resolved using reasons given as deciding factors.

If you’re following along and haven’t been voting, don’t be shy and come get involved!

First match is ready to go if we have any voters at the ready? Or we can wait until lunch time.

    Downpatrick Head Sea Stack

Have to vote against Forest Park here as I think the sea stack is one of the most impressive things I've ever seen.

As much as I love Forest Park and pushing my cousins off boats and into that lake, it’s gotta be the Sea Stack.

It really has that WOW factor.
