    Dun Briste.

Rivals the world's finest sea stacks.

Fix! Irregular Asian betting pattern shocker!

Anyways, yeah, the stacks win this. Now if a Rossie came along and built a castle on top of them, we'd have something to discuss

    Lough Key Forest Park
Really tough one here, both look great. Looking into it though, there just seems so much at Lough Key so I think it would entertain for longer. Its a thin margin but that's swayed me

Downpatrick Head Sea Stack its just impressive

Dun Briste here, I’ve mentioned the Eire 64 sign from WW II, that’s pretty cool too

I’m the interest of transparency, I had briefly put the match up 5 mins earlier than the current upload. I swiftly took it down because wasn’t sure if people were around to vote. Then folks said they were here for it so I slapped it up again really quickly. H2DPB just got in there swiftly before the re-upload!

Same vote, same reason, I love those Eire signs and the sea stack is just all round class.

The sea stack. Just looks awesome

Lough Key is a lovely park, but Dun Briste is on another level visually and in terms of its uniqueness, so it gets my vote here.

I figured that was it alright.

But it seemed more fun to start rumours of a tabloid scandal tbh

Downpatrick Head Sea Stack fascinating place with historical remains close by and a blow hole. Will be visiting this my next trip west (if it ever hapoens again, sigh)

    Oooo Éire sign too. Deadly.

    Gleniff Horseshoe Valley

I love the Observatory but I can't vote against the ShoeHorse Valley, it's absolutely picturesque.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,037 ✭✭✭Cosmo Kramer

It's a vote for the horseshoe valley for me. Although the planetarium is apparently excellent (I've never been) I would find it hard to justify it being one of the eight best landmarks in Ireland.

Gah , just missed the time limit :(

Would've gone for the sea stack though - but God, these decisions are getting more and more difficult

Sorry, L Key, you served us well!!

(O/T - Is that Eire 64 actually on the sea stack , or just somewhere nearby??? )

    Gleniff Horseshoe Valley

This one is a new addition to my places to visit, it looks unreal.
The planetarium is cool too I'm sure, but no match for Gleniff.

Yeah, pretty much this. Except I haven't been to the planetarium so I guess I'd have to say "I know I'd love it"

Gleniff Valley has to get the vote for round 2.

As interesting as the observatory undoubtedly is, I'll stick with my rule of "which would I go out of my way first to see" and that would definitely be the valley!

It's on the cliff edge of the mainland, right next to the sea stack.

    Gleniff Horseshoe Valley.

On the left hand side of the above picture you have Diarmuid and Grainne’s cave.
If you follow the road along you will also have an old school house.
My friends granny was raised in the old house that you can’t see but is on the left hand side of the road just beyond the trees.
There are still old mine shafts and bits of railway tracks around.
    It has a waterfall.
To the left of the picture is Ben Bulben
If you do the drive in an anti clockwise direction then the sea views are even better.

Oh ! I nearly forgot the magic road!
