Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Cant be true, they were listed on the bench of the official team sheet submissions to UEFA.

Dan McDonell has said the rumour is not true so I'd take that as fact

    Better off scoring late.

    Less time to hang on.

There's never a bad time to score.

Jack Byrne for Hendrick worth a go.

Team has grown in this match. Confidence rising.

Defence been solid enough all in all. Duffy and Egan know what they're at.

In fairness i cant remember the last time an Irish team passed the ball like we are tonight, no hoofball , players showing for the ball and generally getting it to feet.

O'Neill & Trap said this couldn't be done.

    Paris, 2009 perhaps?

And some wont be happy. If we get a win here it would give us such a boost to push on. Not so long since we struggled against Gibraltor.

The Fai made a mistake registering the squad, did it alphabetically and left out two As. That’s the reason Idah and Connolly aren’t playing.

Best couple of minutes of an atmosphere I've ever been at when we went 2-1 up

Blows the "we don't have the players" excuse out the window. Kenny had Dundalk playing excellent football at their peak with poorer quality players.
Under MON, Slovakia would have been enjoying 70% possession or so and would have been battering us.

McGoldrick has been outstanding! I often thought he was muck under Mccarthy but this football system suits him and he's been excellent.

Disappointed we arent going For this.

    3 subs to use.

Could we have left McGoldrick on and had a right cut at them for the last 10?

Forgoing 2 subs in extra time.seems crazy unless we are concerned about penalty takers

McGoldrick played a great game. Man of the match.

Whatever the result ends up being, we've played well here. I was critical of Kenny after the first couple of games but tonight has been promising.

We're incredibly unlucky not to be ahead. How often can you say that about Ireland against a half decent side?

Really came into the game in 2nd half when he was allowed come look for the ball. Contender for MOTM I'd reckon

Was brilliant... looked confident too, serving half onwards especially. Kinda wish we kept him in for a pen.

Good effort. But Hurhiane was our last player to score a free.

Not sure my nerves cant handle pens. Hope we can get one last chance and take it.

My mate was in SF cycling across the Golden Gate Bridge and I was texting him updates.

I sent the text to tell him in that St Ledger scored and naturally he was very very happy.

Then Gilardino scored and he was telling me that he just felt the phone vibrate from my text in the pocket and didn't look at it and nearly f**ked it into SF Bay knowing full well we did what we do.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,793 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

Fair play to to Kenny, I think he got the team selection and tactics spot on. There is a distinct lack of cutting edge in the final third, but I am not sure he can be faulted for that as the quality just isn't there.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,820 ✭✭✭smelly sock

I cant help but feel we will rue those missed chances.

We have been by far the better team.

Have a feeling Randolph will be MOTM as usual. His time to shine.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.
