Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Slovak tv production is brutal

Pretty cagey half. Randolph saving us with a nice stop. Duda is a worry. Been disappointed with Doherty. I think Coleman would have offered much more from the positions he has been afforded. I think Callum Robinson had a good half. The game could swing either way.

Really vulnerable to the counter attack.

Been caught out badly with 2 breaks from corners by us!
McClean did well to intercept the first one and hendrick second time around. Maybe need to rethink how we setup for attacking corners

Slovakia has two very good breaks from our corners.

They're watching the same feed as we are and commentating on it, its the Slovakian TV feed

Uefa don't allow the VAR replays to be shown as far as I know.

That’s disappointing. Some players looked tired and waiting for the whistle at the end there when we had a corner. The opposition sensed that and nearly scored. Either the players want it or they don’t.

They are the better team and should win this. It’ll be entirely on them if they don’t get the finger out and make their superiority count by matching Slovakia for effort.

Not much in this as expected, we've had some good play down the right side but haven't created much. They've been similar with decent play through the middle but lack any attacking edge.

Good save at the end and think they're probably more likely to get a goal if we continue to give Hamsik space

Just no goals in us. Long is an option.

    Vile rubbish.

    Marginally better.

I must say, McClean’s hair is fabulous

    Smelly Sock??

Just no goals in us. Long is an option.

A 40 year old Robbie Keane would probably still be the best option.

You new to supporting Ireland? This has been decent compared to a lot of the **** served up in the last 20 years.

We are passing the ball about and we are doing it in the opposition half. Loving it.

they could do that for the next year and not score.

    Marginally better.

We’re the better team with better players. Hopefully we’ll make it count. At the end of the day that’s the name of the game.

Villa had 30% possession against Liverpool on Sunday.

    Hendrick's best performance since 2016

Nice to watch Ireland try to be more constructive. Our big problem is lack of creativity in the final third. Set pieces might be our best hope yet.

The possession is fine - you can also almost see the cogs whirring in players not used to doing it. it is one paced though, side-to-side and ending in a cross.

There needs to be a threat from midfield that can get on the ball, see a run and play a through ball. A Jack Byrne maybe...

Is Byrne as good as Andy Reid yet?

Always feels like such a chore watching our team play football, no matter who's in charge or whose playing. Never enjoyable.

Not one for the neutrals. Commentators etc sound more hopeful than expectant for an Ireland win.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

You must watching a different game from years ago? Already has his obligatory yellow card - 2nd half.

nevermind Reid, the 20 players on the pitch are making him look like Pele.

I've a feeling we're not watching the winners of Euro 2021 here.

How was that not a penalty, came out and punched Duffy in the face, no contact with the ball.

  • Registered Users Posts: 723 ✭✭✭PhilipsR

I fail to see how Jack Byrne could be any sort of liability here. He really is our best chance in bringing on any sort of creativity. The 3 CMs at the minute are too slow to get it to our most threatening players.

Hope Kenny has the bottle to go for it and bring Byrne on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,742 ✭✭✭✭AdamD

Keepers punched him in the face and no discussion of a pen?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,109 ✭✭✭happyoutscan

Keepers get way too much protection.

These aren't up to much and yet, much like the games against Bulgaria and Finland, we're making them seem like they are.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,109 ✭✭✭happyoutscan
