Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is a 100 euro to supply and fit a new Siphon in a downstairs toilet reasonable. It’s a handle toilet.

I've replaced mine myself and my brother is a plumber who would have done it for nothing. It's not difficult. Lots of you tube videos showing how and the siphons are only about twenty euros. Unless it's a fancy toilet. Mine is a handle one too. You do have to check which type of cistern I think. Whether it's close coupled or whatever the other types are.

It sounds reasonable enough for a callout, it really is a DIY job, but wouldn't expect a professional to do it for cheaper than that. (hour work + callout + parts)

As a nixer Id do it abit cheaper if I was bothered, but tax and van to pay for and all the other overheads Id imagine you got a good price. People really dont understand all the skills plumbers have and their time is important. I could be off welding, putting in a gas main, brazing copper pipes in a hotel plant room, unblocking a sewer in an industrial estate, changing a bathroom, a heating system so if you want me to come over to your house and mess about with your jax Im not doing it as a favour.

If the tank to bowl bolts are rusted youll need a sawzall top cut them. You may also need the seal .
