The uk is voting monday on its forced quarantines!.

    They haven't closed their borders.
Belgium closing its borders tonight ......talks of the eu adopting a zero covid approach

The government of the only island nation in the eu has deemed such an approach as unfeasible

Are they all full? Are they returning Irish?

Will they contain asymptomatic cases, which can spread the virus and should be quarantined??....even though ffg feel it isnt worth the hassle

This UK varient and its speed of transmission, could mean entire planes of infected people landing

Will they fill in the locator forms? Will they be followed up?

So many questions, so many deaths.

Would it not be easy to check Covid test status while checking the passport?

If FF/FG were on their game they could book a friends hotel, make staying for 14 days compulsory in some cases, ding the traveler and the tax payer. The lads are slipping.

Anything that requires active management by government is too troublesome. 5km lockdowns for millions in rolling cycles is preferred.

It's like they're trying not to upset or hassle some section/all of society. Surely a drawn out lockdown is worse than a few weeks of heavy restrictions? Would have thought they'd have learned from Christmas.
Goes to show, IMO, if not on the fiddle, they drift, often aimlessly.

Anything that requires personal responsibility by the citizens is often too troublesome.

Anything that requires personal responsibility by the citizens is often too troublesome.

We're talking about the government restrictions not personal responsibility. Passengers can't force their Covid test results on the man at the gate and expect him to keep track.

As anyone who flew to the States can tell you, filling out extra forms and explaining your reasons for travelling isn't new or hard to organise.
They could add Covid questions to the customs claim forms. They still have farming queries as I recall.

It’s lack of personal responsibility that is us from work, funerals, weddings and other family gatherings.

Why do you expect citizens to follow health guidance when government doesn't? Are you saying those that catch covid are irresponsible?

We're talking about restrictions the government could bring in. Can't hand wave that away with 'personal responsibility', that comes after the infections/death rates spiral.

So everyone who caught Covid is irresponsible?

No. But it’s possible that an acquaintance of theirs is.

So someone with showing no symptoms came into work, they worked their shift 3 days before feeling sick everyone who worked with them had to isolate for 14days 3 positives, wheres the blame?

No PBP or old biddie party up here so some shinners, possible FF, couple older ones would probably be blue shirts but would keep it quiet,

There is no similarity between the consumption of alcohol and COVID-19, the point was that nobody wuld leave drink driving to 'personal responsibility'.

Clear?..because it really is clear that was the point made.

How do you know that? That's a cynical guess. There was a general mood at the start where all were working together. Blown away by arrogance and mishandling.

How do you know it would have made things better. That is the position put forward by people, that having a National Unity government would have made our position much better.
Even SF were cold on the idea. I guess they didn't want to be in the hot seat and wanted to shout and roar from the opposition benches.

Regardless, look across Europe, how many national Unity governments are there today tackling this issue. I think there are none.

Many people believe an all island approach to covid is the way to go.

And what are SF doing to achieve that? They are in Stormont, so what have they been doing to get that going?
If we cannot get an all-island approach, would be ok with cutting off the north and sealing the border?

Are you against shutting the borders? Are you against mandatory quarantine?
Do you have evidence or either proposals making covid rates worse?

So you accept it wasn't a fact? That you were wrong?

Ill accept it as long as you accept that SF has more blood on their hands due to the higher death rate in the North.

    Deal? :D

Never said that. Did you manage to work out the incident rate yet? Ever find the reason for the error you made? Are you happy that your day to day life is more risky now because of government decisions? Because that's how it's reading.
