Another week of chaos in store from the government.

Care to elaborate? Numbers are down more and more every day.

Ffg are after getting ripped a new one by the DUP.....they've run out of patience of being used by free state media and parties to be only for politiking and ignored otherwise

Reminds me of the last time I voted FG. One would have thought the country being bankrupt and getting into generational debt might spur a government/party to cut the nonsense, but no. Seems a global pandemic is just another tool to be used.
FF/FG are going to find it tough now they aren't able to point to the north for SF purposes without upsetting LV's safety school, the DUP.

Sorry, but I’ve got no idea of what you’re on about. Care to explain in simple English?

Mr Martin has already apologised and corrected the record.

Uk hasn’t made any decisions yet on quarantine. They’re discussing it tomorrow.

Its to be formally approved by its cabinet tomorrow

So the UK haven't moved to mandatory quarantine. That twice in a few days you have made the same claim which is wrong.
You also made a similar claim about Belgium which was wrong as well.

Christ Leo Varadkar's nonsense comprehensively destroyed on Claire Byrne live. Great to see someone counteract the pessimism and negativity of the man.

I don't get it. He's been undermining MM since day one. Isn't he getting a jant as Taoiseach in a while? He must be either very confident he'll get back in or just too smug to help himself.

Didn't see it last smurge, due to (several) work emergencies, just in and see it's all over social media how badly he performed (I think is the apt description) and how their response and actions lately have been "poor and contradictory" at best.

Will catch up via player today so.

I don't think he cares as this stage. There seems to be an air of brazen, acting with impunity about him. Maybe the leaking fiasco and subsequent support has emboldened him.

I think that I watched a different program. He’s advocating caution. The expert wants everything open ASAP. I know which I have more confidence in!

    He’s advocating caution

    Pity he didn't in December
The expert wants everything open ASAP

Really? Which experts? The type of expert I want to listen to are health experts, none of which I hear calling for "everything open"
I know which I have more confidence in!

The government that's gotten pretty much everything wrong?

My prediction: Government will eventually implement something. They'll do a half arsed job and fuck it up (like absolutely everything they've tried to do). It won't have the desired effect but they'll then say "what do you want from us, we followed advice?"

    Well tickle me pink

For some of our resident government defenders posters, apologises for the "Twitter dump", this is a Professor of Public Health rubbishing the government proposals

I'm sure it's just coincidence but the government has also been lobbied by airlines - wonder is that influencing decisions on quarantine?

Well when you get away with leaking confidential documents and then misleading the Dail with no sanctions, you would feel that you are untouchable. He will be very dangerous if he takes over as Taoiseach with this attitude.

It's strange enough considering he's a bit of a Houdini himself when someone asks him to clarify an unintelligible post.

If Mick Caul wants the airport shut or flights restricted he should get the soc dems TD Roisin Shortall to go into the dail and call for it clearly and stop sniping on twitter.

Being the TD for the Dublin North West, I'm sure she'd be delighted to do it.

I've no idea what he wants - he was responding to a direct question. Namely had airlines been lobbying the government. No more, no less

Seems to be a pattern now of govt supporters either shooting the messenger or shooting the media it's relayed through purely because they don't like the message.

The communications and cooperation between the Irish government and the government in Northern Ireland is nothing short of embarassing since Covid began.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

What communication? If the DUP is to be believed the government here have ignored them.

In fairness, his main criticism of the proposals seems to be the failure to incorporate NI into them, and ultimately that is not within the gift of the Irish government.

Do you mean the Rosin Shortall who has consistently questioned why better checks haven't been kept on people arriving on flights?

I for one am shocked

There's generally someone beside the tax payer profiting or gaining from government decisions, particularly those that go against health advice during a pandemic I'd imagine.

Govt trying to make amends for their pre Christmas fcuk now by implementing partial checks, quarantines and lock downs. Increasing cases in abbatoirs etc.
Glad to hear all the medical experts dismiss this clutching at straws by the three amigos.
