Does anyone know what date Martin meant when he said "middle of the summer" for hospitality sector? What date is that? June/July? Meteorological summer?

I can never understand why some Irish people accept the mediocre so readily.

You’ll know more tomorrow. It’s still too early to give specific dates.

    https://www.thejournal.ie/covid-19-cabinet-sub-committee-march-5361548-Feb2021/

“The final decision would then be taken by Cabinet on Tuesday morning. The restrictions will be reviewed on a monthly basis.
Following tomorrow’s Cabinet meeting, the updated Living with Covid Plan, mapping out how the country might ease restrictions in the coming months, will be published.
Only dates for students returning will be published, with no other indicative dates for the easing of restrictions to form part of the plan.
The government will also extend the Pandemic Unemployment Payment (PUP) other and supports for businesses into the summer.
Beyond the reopening of schools, no major easing of restrictions is expected tomorrow, with a review of restrictions taking place after Easter.”

I wonder what catchy name this plan will have? Can't see it being called living with covid 2.0

Will Level 4 not exist again this time?

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

Exactly. So why did your beloved leaders confuse and infuriate the public over the weekend? That's the point that you keep missing.
They decided not to wait for NPHET this time?

No confusion. Just journalists misquoting the Taoiseach, leading to the Tanaiste having to issue a clarification. No point being missed. No doubt there’s plenty who’ll find fault with tomorrow’s announcement.
    They’re not just my leaders. They’re everyone’s.

MM talking about it to the journalist was the issue. The clarity was a problem because nothing was decided and he was winging it. LV just wanted in on the attention.

If your agenda is to be confused, then you will be confused, bub.

    Kinda figures, doesn’t it.

    BB is back!

Why did Minister McEntee acknowledge the confusion and infuriated public on Morning Ireland at 8:45am this morning and promised to provide clarity on Tuesday?

Why is mandatory quarantining 4 weeks away on February 22nd?

You government fans should check out the main Covid thread from time to time. The mood music isn't good as far as the govt actions are concerned. Inaction more to the point.

And what date is Martin's 'middle of the summer' for hospitality sector? Anyone? hmmmm...crystal!

    ;)

Ah she was only appeasing the masses, excluding FFG supporters, who were left confused by Martins and Varadkar games of one upmanship.

kick the can down the road another 8 weeks or say that we can have boozers back in September if we have 0 cases all through the summer or something equally unachievable.

Donnelly struggling on Claire Byrne show. Now suggesting the teacher's unions not on boards. And of course blaming the variants!
    More confusion on the schools...chaos.

92% of public think the mandatory hotel quarantining is too slow/late. And it's still 3-4 weeks away!

to be fair the unions were never going to go for anything and dig their heels in anyway. Its not donners fault on that one.

There is a clear indication now that Martin is doing a media blitz in recent weeks. He has been told to outshine Leo.
Egos more important than professionalism and clarity.

NPHET said Junior and Senior infants, Norma is demanding 1st and 2nd if you have a look at the return to school thread on this site

Even if it was the unions, why are Ministers both on diff shows giving out different information?

its all a crock but the reality of it is, the schools won't go back, the unions have too strong a hand in this. If the government persists we're going to have a strike
