Its not FFs shambolic handling of the pandemic, It has been FF/FG and The Greens shambolic handling of the pandemic

It's them that will be the patsies for it though. That's how coalition is done here.
Martin and Ryan, thought they could do it different but FG were too wily for them. Hook, line and sinker.

The only - and I mean only - good thing to come from FF's utterly shambolic handling of this pandemic will be seeing them decimated at the next election.

I just hope the public don't punish FF by putting FG back in again. As pointed out above, they have basically let FF be the fall guy by giving them all the toughest ministries and letting MM take the role of Taoiseach first. However they have very much been an equal partner in this coalition of chaos and hopefully people will see through the spin machine.

FG and SF will carve up the FF vote between them, with FG taking the middle class, centrist part, and SF swallowing the working-class, soft-left, soft-republican elements.

I think SF and the smaller left parties will have the numbers to form a government without FF or FG, but if not FF will be facing a big call...

They had the numbers last time, but didn’t attempt to form a Government. Pity, really, as they have all the answers and would have had the pandemic under control by after one lockdown.

    The bitterness.

No opinion on Minister Donnellys performance last night, not knowing anything and sending parents into a panic?

They’re damned if they do and damned if they don’t.

Damned if they make it worse by contradicting each other and themselves.

Why was Donnelly so confused about the teachers unions talks last night on CB Live?

    He was winging it.

They either don't talk to each other or the communications we pay for is awful.

Will never give any rank of vote to anyone from FF/FG. Beyond shambolic. FF in particular embody everything that is wrong with Irish politics. Martin, Donnelly and Norma. How on earth can anyone look at their performance and think yeah, let's have more of this.

Donnelly not up to the job according to McConnell of the Irish Examiner, too much to handle. He should link Norma and MM into the useless bracket also.

They really think that Labour, the SDs and the Greens would be willing to talk to Sinn Fein???

    Really???

Why extend the Commission? What answers will satisfy you?

The Greens are toxic. I wouldn't touch them if I were any party.

How can you extend a Commission that has completed its work?

The idea is to extend the commission so it can answer questions on the work it carried out.
Deleting files and 'glaring inaccuracies' and the like.

Is there a precedent for a commission being extended to answer questions on the work it carried out?

Is it constitutional to change the ToRs of a Commission after it has completed its work?

Is it possible that this is just a half-assed attempt by the SDs to change something to look good, knowing that it hasn't a chance of standing up?

Absoloutely they will, if the numbers are there to form a broad left, SF-led government. Left-wing TDS of all shades would be under irresistible pressure from their supporters to play ball if the numbers are there to put together a government not involving FF or FG.

Exactly, the party leaders who are quick to stand for photo ops with selective victims want to get this closed down as quickly as possible. 'To hell with what the victims/survivors' want in this case. They are going to whip it through the vote tomorrow. Appalling hypocrisy from those defending this.

Government havnt time to sort out paying them compemsation,

But have time to vote down,a fairly reasonable proposal to prevent destruction of data....something deosnt add up.here...what are ffg wanting to hide

If it is a fairly reasonable proposal, you should be able to answer these questions

Is it constitutional to change the ToRs of a Commission after it has completed its work?

I think a few folks are getting nervous about their TDs voting not to extend the commission and thus look fully complicit in the whitewash and data deletion.

The FFG TDs are a lost cause and will follow the whip but email those Green TDs/Senators/Councillors to apply pressure. It will look appalling if they vote against the motion. Especially after O'Gorman's horrendous display on the Week in Politics.

    Little reminder...

Ah you can't be doing that now. Set a new precedent are ya mad Ted?

What an awful comment "There is no precedent".

Does it matter? Although it's been extended to allow them more time to compile the report on more than one occasion.
FF/FG/Greens can't hide behind their own bureaucracy.

Can you cite why we'd need a constitutional change?

It's 100% another case of survivors being put to the side. I don't care who requests it or what reason you feel they might have, it's the right thing to do.

GDPR was not adhered to. To comply with GDPR those that gave testimonies were entitled to request a copy of their testimony and were never granted that.
