Agree to some extent but the FG party is bigger than Leo and they eventually came through. Michael Martin acted like the only grown up in the whole thing. Everyone else ran for the hills even though they had the numbers.

Martin was a coward, he didn't want to have talks with SF because he knew they would drive a hard bargain, it was easier for him to deal with the 3rd placed party. Do you think if FG had been on 37 or 38 seats and SF on 35 that Martin would have had talks with FG. Simple as that, it came down to Martins selfishness and nothing what so ever to do with the good of the country and he is being rewarded for that now but his party is being destroyed.

Darragh O'Brien's developer led housing initiative is getting a bit of kicking. This time the central bank raises the red flags.

I think you are deliberately presenting a false narrative here. Martin's position was clear all along. The numbers were there for an alternative and that was not Martins fault that nothing came of it.

Supposing supposing twenty men were frozen and one of them died how many would be left?
You're just sounding off, you are inserting what you like to think or want others to think.
In fairness Martin propped up the last govt too, so it wasn't an unusual decision by him or FF.

Clear, he stated clearly during the election that he wouldn't go into coalition with FG and what did he do he went into coalition with FG. So he lied to the people during the election but then again that is what is done during elections.

Everybody, groups, agencies, politicians, experts at home and abroad are telling us this latest con will drive up prices for people.

FF/FG/Green ignoring these warning bells is proof for me that the tax paying public is not the number one concern for this government.

Tax paying public are never ever number one concern with FF or FG. Probably 3rd or 4th after themselves, family/friends, special supporters and then maybe a few scraps are thrown to the rest of us.

What’s your evidence for those kind of statements?

There is no party left in Irish Politics to represent the tax payer. Only ones for those who take take take, be they in suits or tracksuits, the civil service or the prison service.

Something in that post, in fairness.

Time Middle Ireland stood up and refused to be gamed by journalists and politicians .

Did the Sinn Fein leadership want a coalition with Fianna Fail? They won the election so why didn't they make it happen?

That is untrue. Giving the taxpayer too much of what they wanted was always FFs biggest weakness.

How were they supposed to 'make it happen' if FF said no (after a bit of wavering)? Ring up Jonathan Dowdall and ask him to apply his persusasive techniques?

Jaysus the government folks are very tetchy tonight

So the story now seems to be to revert to the days of FF/FG hiding the shame of partnering up with each other.
FF/FG didn't go into a power share for the sake of the country.
As regards senior hurling and all that ****e pitch talk, FF/FG/Greens are certainly not premier league material :D

FF/FG were lucky the Greens have no ethics.

Ye watching Jennifer Carroll McNeill on Claire Byrne in relation to Leo's leak? Priceless stuff. She said 'proactively' 5 times!
Hiding behind the Garda investigation now. It's like she has been over-coached just before the interview and is trying to blurt it all out.
    .

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

Great interview by Leo with Pat Kenny today. He really put MaryLou back in her box regarding why she wanted a meeting with the Taoiseach. Not Covid. Not Brexit. Not planning to reopen the country. No. She wants someone sacked for an unknown crime. Someone who hasn’t even been approached by the Gardai! Priceless.

It was nothing more than a diatribe that was allowed on radio as the host of the show who is known as a biased presenter. The whole line " well I wasn't going to bring up SF until you did Pat but " and then he was let off on said diatribe without being challenged by Kenny. It was nothing more than a party political broadcast for FG on a pro FG station. Let him go on another radio station, lets say Classic hits FM at lunchtime and do an interview there?

Carthy couldn't handle her at all, looked intimidated by McNeill.

He wouldn't be used to dealing with that level of class and sophistication I suppose. Poor Matt, the 'thick tongue mumble', he was like a Healy Rae except less entertaining.

Great to be reminded though that Michelle O Neill is under investigation by the PSNI and hasn't been asked to step aside.

The hypocrisy being pointed out was delicious.

    Thanks Leo.
